About Sandra's Corner

Sandra's Corner is a family-run Portuguese restaurant on London Road in Grantham, also serving as a cafe and takeout. The kitchen covers a wide range from piri piri chicken and Chicken Milanese to Tomahawk steak, Margarita pizza, and pastel de Nata, with warm bread and olives brought out to start. A homemade coleslaw and a vegan billionaires tart sit alongside the mains and desserts, and Cherry Liquor is offered as a Portuguese pour alongside red wine and coffee. The room is decorated with handmade crochet pieces crafted by the owner's mum, giving the place a personal touch. Orders can be eaten in or taken away, though delivery times have stretched past an hour and a half during busy periods, with food arriving less than hot.

Customer Review Summary

Sandra's Corner is consistently praised for homemade Portuguese cooking, with reviewers naming chicken dishes, the Pastel de Nata, and pizza as standouts. Warm bread with olives and a Cherry Liquor shot are also singled out. A few diners, however, describe orders arriving too salty or lukewarm, and one reports a long delivery wait, with a missing drink. Most still call it a family-run spot worth the trip.

“Delivery took an hour and 40 minutes, arrived as we had given up and gone to bed. To make it worse the food was lukewarm when it arrived. And my drink was missing’”

“Delicous. Sandra was so lovely, she came out and asked how our food was. It was delicious! She told us how her mum made all the crochet decorations which were such a lovely personal touch. It’s such a great family run business, definitely worth the trip. I had a 1/4 chicken and chips, with. A vegan billionaires tart and a cheeky shot of Cherry Liquor (a Portuguese special) to finish it off. I didn’t take pics because I ate it too quickly, but everything was hand made with love and just so tasty!!! Highly recommend it.”

“Just ordered lunch for the first time …. Margarita pizza , bacon fries , homemade coleslaw…. Absolutely delicious- by far the best pizza in town.”
