About White Hart Inn
White Hart Inn on The Rudge in Gloucester pairs a Nepalese kitchen with a country pub setting, putting curry house cooking and traditional pub fare on the same menu. The Tandoori Mixed Grill Platter and Tandoori Chicken lead the Indian side, alongside a Chicken Tikka served in a freshly made naan with salad. Diners can also order Vegetable Soup or a Bacon and Brie Melt from the pub side of the kitchen. Papadums round out the starters. The pub takes walk-in seating without a booking, and table reservations are confirmed by email for those who prefer to plan ahead. Food is also available as a takeaway alongside sit-in dining. It opens daily, giving both the Nepalese and pub menus a steady presence through the week.

Customer Review Summary
Diners return again and again for the Nepalese curry menu, with the Raji Rani singled out as a favourite alongside the sizzling mixed grill. Several mention the kitchen's flexibility, including one party who had a mixed meat biryani made to order despite it not being on the menu, and a Chicken Tikka naan wrap praised at lunch. Traditional pub dishes also draw praise, with a steak and gravy pub pie and a lasagne both called standouts from a team lunch. Service is repeatedly described as warm and attentive, with the landlord noted by name-dropping reviewers as welcoming, and staff credited for accommodating walk-ins on busy Saturday evenings without long waits. One reviewer, however, describes arriving for a confirmed Sunday evening booking to find the pub locked up with no signs of life, a stark contrast to the otherwise consistent praise. Several diners mention leaving with takeaway leftovers and say they'll be back.

Service was excellent too. I will certainly be back… thank you to all the staff who looked after me & my father this evening. Great food, I would highly recommend… I eat Indian food all the time as a treat & this has to be the best I have had in a long time.”

“Our go to curry restaurant and it doesn’t disappoint. The food and service are absolutely fantastic and Bim (and his team) are so friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend. Our favourite curry and the Raji Rani is the best curry in any restaurant, along with their incredible grilled meats such as the sizzling mixed grill!”
