  “Bank holiday Monday w/end prices but can’t use w/end discount voucher. Asked for gammon & lamb. Told can’t get much more off lamb. Got very thin couple of slices of both. The bone they took away had more on it than I was given. Then they came out with a fresh leg after I was served. Have to say over priced poor portion of meat. But beef fat potatoes were the highlight. Not interested in visiting again at that price & that lack of meat”

  “Consistently good over the past 20 years on multiple visits but mainly for breakfast! Always friendly staff and a clean restaurant. Plenty of parking. The food is what it should be and never disappoints!”

  “First time I've been to carvery 🤣 Not the place to go for a quiet lunch, feral kids, excessive noise. We both had dicky stomach by 8pm.”

  “1st time ever at a Toby we go turned away due to not just having enough meat for us but others who had booked!!! (Yes it was a Sunday) surely they'd have accounted for that? And passing trade like we were.”

  “We visited Toby Carvery in Gloucester for the 3rd time now. Not a local one to us but each time has been fantastic. Dean has served us for the 3rd visit we have had and is always positive and really helpful throughout the whole dining experience. Would highly recommend!!”

  “Always love coming here for a good roast dinner! The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The roast is served self-service style for the vegetables, while the meat is freshly carved and plated for you. There are four meats to choose from, and you can even have a bit of each if you want! The food is always delicious, and it’s a place I’ll continue to recommend. Always will recommend… and always yummy!”

  “Was an okay experience, but definitely won't return. The food was great. The kitchen staff, and the lad on the carvery were genuinely brilliant. The fault here is the front of the house staff. Shoved in a corner, because we didn't book a table. Given an absolutely filthy table, and then a rushed "order at the bar", and walked off. That was our initial red flag. I wouldn't have mind, but it wasn't even busy with the same empty tables available when we left. Instead, the front of house staff were standing around the bar gas bagging about the old assistant manager coming back as a waitress after having a baby. You can tell the focus here isn't on customer service, and for that reason we wouldn't return.”

  “Brought my downes brother here for his birthday lunch with my sister and my partner. Seated in a lovely spot by a window. Our server, Cam, was brilliant from beginning to end. The service we had from him was exemplary, he is a credit to the company. We all went for the carvery which was very good, especially the Dauphines potato!!!!!!! A repeat visit for me after a great experience over the Christmas period and it did not disappoint. I cannot express enough how impressed we all were by the service from Cam. Lovely treat, many thanks.”

  “Visited Toby Carvery Highnam in Gloucester recently and honestly had a really great experience from start to finish. The food was exactly what you hope for with a Toby – generous portions, everything nice and hot, and a really good selection on the carvery. The meats were cooked well and the veg was fresh, not dried out like you sometimes get elsewhere. What really made the visit stand out though was the service. Dean was absolutely brilliant – friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful the whole time we were there. Nothing felt like too much trouble for him, and he just had that great attitude that makes you feel looked after without it being over the top. It’s rare these days to get service that actually improves your whole experience, but Dean really did that. He made the meal feel more relaxed and enjoyable, and it definitely didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, a really satisfying visit and one we’ll happily repeat. Big credit to Dean – he’s a real asset to the team”
