Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the artichoke, with one calling it the best they have had and another trying it for the first time, and the focaccia is cited as the dish everyone raves about. Oysters, the roast half chicken, the fish dishes and a pasta and salad lunch special also draw praise, along with spicy margaritas as one diner's highlight. Several describe warm, friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and light, fresh food suited to sharing, and one family praises the good children's food, including cheese pasta. The complaints are about value and range. One reviewer found the sardines tiny, the pork chops lukewarm and fatty, and the focaccia salty with barely a teaspoon of olive oil. Others call seafood portions small, some dishes short on flavour and the pudding underwhelming, and a vegan diner wanted a pudding beyond sorbet. One reviewer urges making a reservation, and a lunch visitor recalls Led Zeppelin playing on the stereo.

“Lovely food, lovely service and a stunning atmosphere. You're often felt too rushed in these sort of restaurants, it simply has never been the case in the few times I've visited Gloriosa. Staff are so accommodating and make you feel very comfortable. The food is always superb, introducing exciting seasonal flavours that you would never think to combine at home. Truly is one of the gems in Glasgow. Class personified.”

“We had a fabulous family lunch at Gloriosa. The food is truly outstanding. It is best to share dishes much like tapas. Unlike many restaurants, Gloriosa provides really good quality children's food. Children are made welcome too. Cheese pasta is simple and often boring, but here it ticks all the boxes. For adults, the roast half chicken is a great main. The fish dishes are great too.”

“Had lunch here twice during rainy Glasgow season. Food are really light and fresh (feel so satisfying for my asian stomach), good vibe, and close to Kelvin hall, art musuem and University of Glasgow.”

“Brilliant food and service was first class. I understand why everyone raves about the focaccia”
