About Eatalia Kitchen
Eatalia Kitchen is a fish and chips shop at 243 Main St in Glasgow, run as a chippy-café with an Italian theme. The kitchen serves fish suppers alongside pizza made with a homemade sauce and smoked penne pasta, so one table can order from both the chip shop side and the Italian side. Ice cream is made in house in the Italian style, and the desserts are homemade too. Daily specials are advertised on the wall, which gives regulars a reason to check what has changed. The business is family-run.

Customer Review Summary
Lasagne is the dish praised most, with reviewers also naming the smoked penne pasta, the pizza with its homemade sauce and crust, and homemade Italian ice cream and desserts. One regular calls the Double Egg, Chips and Beans a menu favourite and credits the freshly made burgers and daily-bought fish. Several describe it as a chippy and café combination with generous portions. The criticism is nearly as frequent as the praise, and it centres on the fried food. Some found the chips reheated or soggy, the fish soggy, and the chicken nuggets in a rubbery batter. One burger had a defrosted-tasting bun and hard, stone-like bits in the beef. A diner was charged more than the price on the wall, with the explanation that Fridays cost more. Another felt the food had changed for the worse over recent orders. Delivery drew complaints too, including cold chips, sausages missing from a supper, and little salt and vinegar. One fish supper arrived with no chips and was credited after a complaint.

“Ordered fish supper, delivered fish with no chips. I complained through just eat and got credited. Got a hostile phone call and told I was banned from ordering from there again! Terrible customer service”

“i always went here. always had good service and good food but the other day the driver (not just eat, driver from the restaurant) came to my door and threatened me because i said my food was cold. (the chips were cold as delivery took long) i used to love here but i wont have a grown man threatening a young girl by herself at her door. so sadly i wont order anymore and will go to marinis on rutherglen instead. such a shame because i used to love this place and order from 2/3 times a week. if you send out cold food expect the criticism. if not then best to not threaten people on their own doorstep when they are a loyal customer. you've lost it now.”

“Really disappointing. The burger was horrible, the bun seemed like it had been defrosted, and the beef had loads of wee hard, stone-like bits through it. I couldn’t finish it. The café itself also looked dirty, scruffy and in need of a proper clean. I definitely won’t be back.”

“Food has been on a down hill for me personally for my last 4+ orders. The food has been both different in taste and looks and has on several occasions given me food poisoning. My last straw was the fact I ordered the vanilla cake only for it to be raw inside which is a health risk. shocking that the food has changed. Chicken nuggets have a weird rubber batter and the french fries are just chuck soggy chips always burnt”
