Customer Review Summary
The caveats are specific. One diner found the roast potatoes needed longer to crisp, and both desserts were disappointing: an Eton mess with runny, under-whipped cream and a fruit crumble so liquid with runny custard that it went uneaten. Another found the belly pork overpowered by soy sauce. A few call the food a little unadventurous and expensive, and one wanted more Welsh dishes. Reviewers also describe the small car park, where they ended up in the overflow lot across a busy A road that felt unsafe to cross.

“A beautiful place to go for Sunday dinner. We visited as a large group of people and we found that the staff were very welcoming. I have food allergies that aren't on the main 14 list of allergies, which is always difficult for me when eating out and the manager was brilliant with helping me and finding out which meals to choose. If she was unsure about something, she'd come back and ask me. This made my experience of eating here much easier. The food was so good and I'll eat here again. We paid £28 each for a three course Sunday dinner, however due to my allergies, the choices on the set menu was very limited. You can order 1, 2 or 3 of the set meals, but these need to be priced on the menus rather than having to ask. It does get very busy here, the car park is quite small, could do with marked bays as we found that cars that were parked there were taking up approx 1 1/2 spaces. There is an overflow car park across the road but this isn't great for people with mobility issues and families with small children to cross on a busy main road. Very well decorated indoors and out and the atmosphere in there is very homely.”

“Really lovely place with highchairs and children’s portions available. I highly recommend the Glamorgan sausages!”

“A friendly and welcoming place with fantastic service. Food was ok - I chose belly pork but it had too much intense soy sauce which was overpowering. My husband enjoyed his main of sausage and mash. We had a nice table and it's a popular place. Would go again for a special treat. It was my birthday and the cost was a bit steep, hence ok for specific occasions. Could not fault the service.”

“We arrived at our campsite fairly late and passed the Goat Inn on our way down. Tired and hungry we rang them on the off chance they had a table and they managed to squeeze us in at 8pm with our little dog, what a find this place was! The interior is warm and cosy, the menu and food is amazing, and the staff are so friendly and helpful! We came back every night for 3 days because we enjoyed it so much! You will not be disappointed but booking is recommended!”

“We had Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The friendly staff were on the ball and the food arrived in quick time, which was surprising as it was busy. It started to thin out after 1.30. I had the roast beef and my wife, the turkey roast. Both very tasty.”
