  “We love this place, the food, service and friendly staff are all consistently excellent. It's our favourite Pub now. We've even visited for a New Years Day meal, with our dog. We can't fault the place. There is a great choice of indoor and outdoor seating, including a separate kids outdoor play area. Something for everyone.”

  “World's thinnest Burger (where is the microsocopic beef patty?), charging £20 for this is outrageous. Can't even see any beef. Kitchen reply "this is how we always serve it". Run away, much better places around.”

  “Just had a lovely meal here with my family, staff all greeted us kindly with a smile. Gorgeous location surrounded in woodland, kids park, plenty of parking, 10/10 food and ice cold beer. We will 100% be coming back to this hidden gem.”

  “Great find! Our first time at The Spotted Cow and we will definitely be back! Everyone was really friendly, and the food was excellent. Would recommend for both a meal out or just as a really nice place to go for a drink or two(We sat in the conservatory for lunch - great Sunday roast!)”

  “Having discovered The Spotted Cow a few weeks ago, my wife and I were eager to give it a try. It’s in a lovely setting: quiet, pretty, and the building itself is traditional, welcoming and exactly the sort of place you want to stumble across on a weekend. Sadly, it’s possible we simply ordered the wrong things — but we were really let down by the quality of the food, especially given the prices. I had the chicken wings to start, followed by the Mediterranean pork and chorizo skewers. The wings were almost £10, which felt ambitious, particularly as you don’t get the full wing and what did arrive was very small. I’m fairly certain they weren’t fresh and had been warmed up from frozen — though I appreciate that’s an allegation I can’t prove without access to the freezer. The pork skewers were much the same. Dry, bland, and again suspiciously like they had been reheated from frozen, or possibly introduced to a microwave at some point in their journey. The pork had most of the moisture sucked out of it, which is not ideal for a dish costing nearly £20. At that price, you’d hope for something with a bit more flavour, freshness and general signs of life. My wife had the Chicken Caesar Salad. When it came out, it looked pretty awful — pale, lifeless, and with very little care taken in the presentation. It was slathered in far too much dressing, and the lettuce seemed to consist mainly of the hardest, least charming parts of the iceberg. But the real star of the show, unfortunately, was the chicken. It almost didn’t look like fresh cooked chicken at all. We genuinely debated whether they’d bought packet chicken breast slices from Lidl and given them 30 seconds on the grill for appearances. It was disappointing, and she only managed to eat half of it. The drinks didn’t do much to rescue things either. The wine list leaves quite a lot to be desired, and the ale was either off or just tasted bad enough to raise questions. In fairness, we saw other tables ordering the seabass, and that did look quite good — so perhaps there are better choices on the menu and we were just unlucky. But our food really wasn’t what we expected for almost £50 a head. The Spotted Cow has lots of potential but I don’t think the current owners have realised it. Unfortunately, we won’t eat here again. That said, it is a lovely setting and probably still a nice place for a drink — provided the lines have been cleaned.”

  “Found this place on google while staying in Farnham for a couple of days. Key words to describe this restaurant?? Stunning location, great atmosphere, amazing staff and delicious food. Carmine helped us to choose the right dishes with the right wine!! We had the Albarino white from Spain and the veal schnitzel which were perfectly matched. Definitely going back whenever we will be in Farnham again. Thanks Carmine!! Ps: Hope I did write your name right😂”

  “This is easily one of the best pubs I’ve been to! The atmosphere here is lovely. It’s chilled, it’s so relaxed and the vibe is just great. In the back where we sat, there was space for my son to venture into the woods a little, and we could still see him and join him to keep him occupied before the food arrived. All of the staff were friendly and it didn’t feel like they were offering a service, it was just natural to them. The food though - it was insane and I can’t fault it! For the amount of covers that they do, nothing lacked in quality. Everything was cooked well, seasoned to perfection and the veg was cooked fresh and still green (a good sign that it’s just been cooked!) honestly I can’t wait to go back to this hidden gem.”

  “Booked for 8 and we were first placed in the corner of the pub on a 4 person table with a different sized table added and a heater as backrest for some. Asked to move to the nicer outside area and was told there is unlikely to be space but will check, we were able to but only if we left by a certain time. Food was good, awkwardly small plate for roast though. The two-star service was for the waitress serving food and drinks. Paid £70 deposit over the phone and then they forgot to take it off the bill, and when they finally came back, we paid £50 cash and they still put the full amount on card - luckily I spotted this. Also didn’t adjust their service charge which was still 10% from the original bill - at this point I just wanted to go so didn’t bother mentioning it. If not for poor service I would recommend as it’s in a lovely area and food is worth a try.”

What arrived at the table was a beautifully seared, perfectly tender cut of meat, presented with care and without unnecessary flourish. The flavour spoke for itself: rich, indulgent, and among the finest I’ve been served in recent memory. Judging by the steady stream of guests filling the car park, word has clearly spread—this is a destination well worth seeking out.”
