  “We ate both from the Take- Away and Restaurant. The Fish and Chips were delicious on both occasions, really fresh and well cooked. The Restaurant was comfortable, the server could have been a bit happier but all in all a good experience.”

  “I'll start by saying tgat I'm used to high quality fresh fish. Staying in a busy fishing port in the north east of Scotland, I normally have fresh from the boat & the fish suppers we have there are beautiful. In fairness, the chips were very good. They were nicely cooked and not greasy. On the other hand, considering this is a fishing port, the fish was awful. It was overcooked, probably as it was not cooked to order & had been sitting in the top of the range. It was dried out, shrivelled up and mostly inedible. I left more than I ate. £11.99 for the supper, which is pretty average price wise. The fish was way below par.”

  “We were recommended this restaurant by my brother and sister in law whilst visiting Eyemouth. I was extremely impressed! The fish was cooked fresh, the batter was very crispy and not at all greasy as everything is cooked in beef dripping. Staff were friendly and polite too. We have eaten Michelin star fish and chips before now in whitby and this restaurant has the Michelin star one beat! We will definitely come back!”

  “For me, there’s nothing nicer than fish & chips, when you’re by the seaside and this place provided a great “fish supper”. Freshly cooked in good time and very good portions at a reasonable price in my opinion. Plus, there’s some decent outdoor seating very close by, and not a single seagull in sight. Thoroughly recommend.”

  “Fish and Chips were nice with a nice crisp batter on the fish that was meaty. Unfortunately the service really really let down the experience. We were made to feel as if we were more an inconvenience other than a welcome customer group. It took us asking three times before we were able to get table water and I gave up waiting for my request of a second round of drinks as they never appeared either. We even borrowed salt from a neighbouring table group as we asked but non appeared. It’s a busy place but nice. They also have an outside area beside the harbour wall. There were no complaints from anyone on the food quality and it was a fair amount, portion wise. Looks as if there could be quite a queue for sit in if you haven’t pre-booked. They also do takeaway.”

  “There are actually two premises here under the same name in separate buildings, one is an ice cream parlour/cafe and the other is a fish and chip shop/restaurant. There are also outdoor tables across the street. Today we only went to the ice cream parlour for their flavoured locally made ice cream cones which were very tasty. Update - tonight we used the restaurant which is at the rear of the fish and chip shop and have lowered my star rating as a result. We both had pizza which were good however the service was not of the standard I would expect in the hospitality trade. The girl who served us was miserable and seemed uninterested in the job she was doing. My “large” glass of red wine for £7 was half filled and the ice creams at £2 a scoop for 3 didn’t even come with a waver. Two courses cost us just under £50. I only tip when the service is good so none was left I’m afraid.”

  “We were staring in Eyemouth and visited both the chip shop and the gelato shop and everything was amazing! The chips were perfectly cooked and generous portions. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to some gelato just next door and it was incredible rich, creamy, and full of flavour. You can really tell everything is made with care. Highly recommend both spots if you’re in Eyemouth. Top-quality food and lovely service all round!”

  “Very cute, well themed and adorned nicely to reflect the area and atmosphere of the type of food they serve. We showed up close to closing hungry for fresh fish and chips. This hit the spot and was a great choice. This restaurant was 125 years old as it opened in 1900. Fish was excellent and fresh. Batter was crispy and well flavored. Chippies were delicious, big and crispy. I recommend this location to any traveler coming through the area.”
