  “The hotel is comfortable for family as it is integrated with Toby Carvery restaurant. Need to check in the bar and drop the key at the box when leaving when restaurant close. Sometimes parking can be packed during weekend when restaurant is full, but we always got parking. The restaurant itself is really nice especially at weekends they provide special food like mac and cheese. The lead waitress Sandra is very kind also and served us really well. Location of the hotel is strategic midway between Edinburgh city and airport.”

  “just what was needed after a long day walking about Edinburgh. Food delicious, gravy sensational. Donna our waitress was wonderful and very attentive, made us feel super special especially our 4 year old who took a shining to her instantly!”

  “**Please note there's no lift or air conditioning** although the bar man very kindly took our luggage up to our room for us, and there was a decent fan in the room, but just too hot & stuffy during the hot summer we've had. Had to ask for the continental items at the bar which I've not encountered before, so it's not fully self-serve. I can't eat hard fruit with the yoghurt - usually find there's a bowl of berries but not the case here - but the lady on the first morning went out of her way to find something in the kitchen for me, coming back with some stewed apple, which I really appreciated; and said she'd sort for me the next morning. Unfortunately, the second morning it was a different person who was not so accommodating, she forgot to bring our drinks, and she never came back about the fruit - that's why I had to knock the service star down - she was not as friendly, although it wasn't at all busy when we arrived. The housekeepers were lovely, friendly and very helpful. It's located in a great position, with a bus stop directly outside to get into the city, nearby shops. The car park was for hotel guests only which made it all the easier to get parked up.”

  “We went there for breakfast at 10:50 at Edinburgh West. The receptionist mentioned the breakfast time is only till 11:00 and we should take everything we can before that. We agreed. But there was nothing to take. When I asked for refills, she mentioned the breakfast time is over. We paid for a sausage and bacon. Also for unlimited tea, when we went for a refill, they removed that as well. I understand the breakfast time was over. But, atleast they could mention that there is only limited option. Really bad experience. Felt like they only needed money and didn’t want to give any customer satisfaction. This was the first time I ve been to Toby. I would never recommend this to anyone ever in my life. Thanks for looting us the money without providing proper service.”

  “What a difference to one that we left due to poor service. We arrived and was greeted so nicely by Ashley who instantly raised our spirits after such a bad service. Then Donna took care of us after and wow you can tell when a team is a good team with such friendly and inviting service like this. Nothing was too small for the team the chefs are engaging and happy in their rolls. We are just blown away by the service and food quality. So Ashley Donna and the team thank you so so much for your incredible service”

  “A great location close to Edinburgh city centre with regular buses into town and out towards the airport and West Lothian. We only went for food therefore unable to rate the rooms. However, the Toby Carvery was utterly disappointing. All the vegetables were bland, the mac cheese lasted like watery pasta sadly lacking in the cheese. The broccoli and cauliflower were both tasteless and over cooked. The meat was fine, but so thinly cut - I've had thicker slices of meat on a Tesco sandwich! Let's just say we were grateful for the gravy as we were all so hungry and the gravy made it...edible?! The staff were all very polite and accommodating, and they did take off half our food bill, but sadly not one of our group will be returning. Top tip; slap on the gravy...”

  “Really good location to get in and out of Edinburgh, bus stop right outside that takes you directly into the center. Staff really friendly and helpful. Room was lovely. Shower was a little small but everything else was spot on.”

  “Donna made our whole visit. From the moment we sat down she was so warm, friendly and genuinely bubbly. Nothing was too much trouble, she was constantly checking we were okay without being overbearing, and she had such a lovely personality that she made us feel really welcome. She’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back and is a real credit to Toby Carvery. Unfortunately, the food was a big let-down. The quality just wasn’t there and it didn’t come close to matching the standard of the service. If I was rating Donna alone it would be 10/10, but the food really disappointed us.”

  “Stayed here for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very welcoming. We stayed in a spacious family room which was perfect for us. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist with anything we needed.”
