About Marco Polo Pizzeria
Marco Polo Pizzeria is a pizza restaurant in Driffield, at 68 Middle St S, where Sardinian hospitality meets a pizzeria style that throws back to the 80s. Pizzas lead the menu, with a calzone as another baked option. Pasta also features, including a salmon tagliatelle, and garlic bread works as a starter before the main course. The restaurant opens daily, evenings only, so it suits an evening meal any day of the week. Bookings are taken ahead, and party bookings are accepted for larger groups.

Customer Review Summary
The criticism is more specific. One reviewer describes a lasagne served in a bath of watery sauce, with food left on the floor for about an hour, and the cost of the dish was removed from the bill. Another found the calzone half filled, with thin ham at the centre, and the tagliatelle bland and salty. A third also found salmon tagliatelle salty and a veneziano pizza under seasoned. Another reviewer found the fried squid bland, and a different diner called service slow and the style a trip back to the 80s.

“My heart sank when I saw the alla carbonara dish listed cream as a major ingredient. FFS! However, my veneziano pizza was ok although under seasoned. By contrast, my wife's salmon tagliatelle was salty but otherwise very tasty.”

“My 7 year old son said it’s the best restaurant he’s ever been to! He loved it! We all had a really lovely meal, thank you. X”

“Food was nice, but there's not much you can ruin, the portion was a little small, but but the cost for every thing has gone up so it did reflect In the price. So very reasonable.”

“It's about a year or so since our last visit but nothing has changed? It's still a trip back to the 80's in it's style and while the food is "ok," and there are plenty of Italian eateries in the area that I've experienced that are now better in atmosphere, service and food. The premises were quiet on arrival and steady throughout our visit but the service was slow. Sorry folks but I'm doubtful we will be returning any time soon when I know we can do better? ☹️”
