Customer Review Summary
Egg fried rice comes up most, and mostly as a letdown. Reviewers call it stodgy, bland and pure white, tasting like boiled rice with egg added, while a mushroom fried rice arrived with one mushroom and loads of peas. Praise centres on other dishes. Salt and pepper chicken is described as fantastic, flavourful and good in texture, and another diner found the food cooked perfectly with lots of flavour and good portion sizes. Free fortune cookies and prawn crackers are mentioned as a bonus, and staff are called friendly, polite and professional. Several reviewers say standards have slipped. They cite a smaller chop suey with barely any taste, lemon chicken that was tough with batter falling away, and Singapore noodles with about two prawns. One delivery arrived long after the quoted window and was sent back after a dispute over the price. Another reviewer twice found dishes missing from a phone order, was asked to pay extra for them, and drove back to collect food that had gone cold.

“I can't leave a review of the food because I never had it delivered in time. I ordered by phone at 19.24 for delivery and was told it would be about 30-40 minutes. At 20.38 the food still hadn't arrived so I called and was told that it was a busy period. At 20.53 the food still hadn't arrived so I called again and was told the same thing. During the call the delivery person showed up. I explained that I wasn't prepared to pay the full price of just over £31 but would pay £25. I said the maximum would be £25 at which point the lady slammed the phone down on me and the food returned. I totally understand that Saturday nights are a busy period but that should be mitigated against by getting in more drivers. If I had driven there myself then I could have been back home with the food within 30 minutes but my car was being used by another family member. Tasty House - please consider getting in more drivers for the busy periods and look at compensating customers if the orders are delayed. Getting £25 for the food would have been better than having the food returned and binned. In addition, hanging up the phone to a first time customer isn't the best approach. You only get one chance to create a good first impression and you blew it!”

“Popped in to order and was greeted by a very friendly lady - always a good start! They didn't seem to be super busy so my food was ready quickly (about 10 minutes), and was still lovely and hot by the time I got it home. The salt & pepper chicken was fantastic - very flavourful and excellent texture, however the egg fried rice and sweet & sour sauce let them down. Usually, fried rice has a golden brown hue to it (partly due to use of soy sauce) - this rice was pure white and tasted more like boiled rice that had egg added to it. The sweet and sour sauce was very watery and, while it had a lovely, strong smell to it, once I mixed it in with the rice I could barely taste it which was incredibly odd. I'd definitely be willing to give them another go based on how great the chicken was, as well as the speed and the friendliness of staff. Hopefully the less good elements were just one-offs!”
