About Walnut Grove
Walnut Grove is a British coffee shop and breakfast restaurant set on Durngate Street in Dorchester, a short walk down a quiet side street from the town centre. The kitchen focuses on a build-your-own breakfast from around £1.30 per item, alongside plates such as jacket potatoes served with salad and coleslaw and a traditional eggs Benedict. A lunch menu adds dishes like lasagne and gammon with egg and chips, while the counter also turns out cakes and coffee through the day. Dogs are welcome, and tables are kept both inside and out on the street. Lunch tables are marked as reserved during the service, and the rest of the day runs on a walk-in basis.

“Highly recommend this tea room located down a quiet side street. We sat outside although there was seating indoors too. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating for my blind husband. The jacket potatoes were lovely and came with a decent amount of salad and coleslaw.”

“£1.30 per item and you build your own breakfast. Cakes look delicious but was full from breakfast so didn't try any. Came back another day and had the lasagne. It was incredible. Freshly home made and so yummy. My other half had the gammon egg and chips. It was also delicious and made with fresh ingredients.”

“We are really glad we found this restaurant in Dorchester.we had lovely fresh cooked food, friendly and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Just wished we took pictures. I had fish platter which consisted of prawns, scampi, fish cake ,salad and chips. My wife had fishcakes, chips and salad. Total bill £35 inc tea. Fortunately I have tastecard which cut bill in half. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended. Well done all staff”

“I was really well looked after today. The staff were able to provide me with a takeaway gluten free option for breakfast whilst I was working a stall. They then gave me their number to ring ahead so a lunch could also be sorted for collection as I was working outside alone all day and had very little time. I appreciated the fantastic service”
