About Charm Thai Cafe
Charm Thai Cafe is an independent Thai restaurant at 67 Copley Rd in Doncaster town centre, where every dish is cooked to order. Diners can bring their own alcohol to the table, and the restaurant adds no corkage or service charge, so a bottle from home costs nothing extra to enjoy with dinner. Head Chef Rin leads a menu of classic curries, stir fries and Pad Thai, with dark noodle soup and crispy pork belly among the other plates. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and the chicken and beef are halal. Lunch and dinner are both served. Anyone new to Thai food can ask the team to help them choose.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention green curry, red curry, pork dumplings and pad kee mao.
Customer Review Summary
Curries draw the most praise, with diners naming the green curry Bangkok style, red curry and masaman as full of flavour, fresh and hot, served with fluffy rice. Close behind are the dumplings and soups, including pork dumpling noodle soup, tom yum, and a chicken feet soup with a deep broth. Others single out Pad Kee Mao, belly pork kra prao, spicy Thai sausage and yum wun sen. Reviewers repeatedly call the food authentic, fresh and good value, with generous portions, and several describe the owners and staff as friendly and welcoming. One says they were guided through the menu and had dishes tailored to their spice level. The one criticism comes from a reviewer who was otherwise delighted but marked down the atmosphere because the toilet is outside, reached through a storage area and past the kitchen and office. Several say they plan to return to work through more of the menu, and one is surprised not to see a line outside waiting for a table.

“The food here was absolutely delicious and I couldn't fault it one bit! I only gave three stars for atmosphere as there's an outside toilet, where you have to go through a storage area and past the kitchen and office, which is less than ideal but I hope this place does well enough to upgrade to better premises as they are super nice and friendly. Superb value for money here and a delicious experience overall!”

“Found this Thai restaurant by accident while searching for “restaurants” open now of a Monday evening in Doncaster, and what a find!! Been to Thailand 9 times so it had something to live up to and I can honestly say it’s truly delicious, extremely authentic🫶🏼👏🏼🤤 We had the Yum Wun Sen, Green and Red curries and my husband had a Bellypork Kra Prao stir fry and everything was absolutely delicious. The Chef is truly talented, Rin and her husband Jim are super hosts and incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place🤩we will be back. If you’ve ever been to the Thai restaurant above the Salutation (Thai at the Sal) this is far far far superior to that, it’s, proper Thai cuisine you won’t regret it 5* all the way. Thank you for a great meal will see you again🙏🏼”

“Amazing authentic food! Luckily by chance I walked past this place a few days ago and never knew it existed, thought it looked good and wasn't disappointed. We had pork dumpling noodle soup and it was beautiful. Will be back.”

“Very clean and friendly staff. We've had pork dumplings for starter and Tom yum soup and chicken red curry for the mains. Both really tasty and delicious. Wife's first time and my 2nd. She's already made plans with some of our friends to come back. Definitely need to taste the rest they've got in the menu!”

“Every single dish explosion of flavor. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the taste is as genuine as it gets. If you only have one meal to eat, make sure it’s here! I’ll definitely be coming back again and again”
