Quick info
About Relish Bar & Grill
Relish Bar & Grill is a diner-style bar and grill in Doncaster, at 19 E Laith Gate. The kitchen makes its pizza in-house, including calzone, and the menu runs alongside steaks and burgers. A lunchtime special pairs pasta with pizza, so the midday menu has more than the grill dishes. The bar serves cocktails and other drinks, and the room works as a place to start a night out in town. A Sunday roast dinner is also served at the bar and grill.

Customer Review Summary
Generous portions anchor most visits, with diners praising a calzone folded pizza, lasagne and chips, plus a Sunday roast that one regular calls the best around. Drinks come close behind, with cocktails going down well at a birthday evening and another reviewer singling out the drinks. Reviewers also describe a lively, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a varied menu with vegetarian and gluten-free choices. Complaints centre on the kitchen and the pace. One diner found the chimichurri beef wrap chewy and dripping in oil, another found the lunchtime pasta and pizza lacking flavour, and one notes slow food while a single bartender served a busy crowd. A work group was told by a manager that the bill could not be split. Even so, one reviewer whose drinks arrived late and were then doubled praised how the team corrected it immediately and with a smile.

“We visit this Bar and Grill regularly, and there is a very good reason why- it serves the best Sunday roast dinner around. The food is consistently outstanding, and the atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and excellent. The staff are amazing, every single one of them. They’re always so lovely, and it is such a pleasure to walk in and be greeted so warmly by everyone. They are incredibly attentive, always checking that we have everything we need and asking if there is anything else they can do for us. This is, without a doubt, the best place to go for a Sunday roast. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, a fantastic atmosphere, and exceptional service.”

“Really disappointing. Had the chimichurri beef wrap. Beef was chewy and the whole thing was dripping in oil. Service was a little meh. Lots of shouting / arguing coming from the kitchen-serving area in both English & Polish (possibly Romanian). Some of the other food being served around me looked really good. Maybe I just had bad luck ordering what I did Regardless, with the very average prices and lack of atmosphere I wouldn't be in a rush to return.”

“Relish Bar & Grill is a great spot to kick off your evening in Doncaster! The atmosphere is lively and the decor sets a really cool mood for a night out. We had some food and drinks, and everything was delicious. It’s the kind of place that gets you in the right mindset before heading out further into town. Definitely worth a visit for the vibe alone!”
