  “This is a beautiful location, building and experience. My family has been going for years and I finally had the chance to go again after two years. The location is still absolutely bustling with life and is definitely worth the visit. Even just to grab a drink and sit on the wall to take in the sights, it's worth the trip. Staff were lovely, kind and attentive. Price are a little on the higher side; spent £8 on a lemonade and a J2O, but as long as you're expecting it, I think it's understandable for the location.”

  “Fantastic pub in an exceptional location. Truly the perfect place to stop for a while and enjoy a pint by the meandering Afon Mawddach. Excellent variety of outdoor and cosy indoor seating areas. Very good food selection, decent drinks options, and reasonably priced. Take a cycle out from Dolgellau or Abermaw along the Mawddach trail and stop for lunch. Watch the cows graze on the water meadows by the old toll bridge. Wonderful.”

  “We spent five wonderful days at the George. Great location to just watch the world go by. Great walking in the hills. Lovely outing to the seaside. Amazing staff who made my 90year old Mum and Dad and me have the perfect holiday”

  “This pub has it all, great service, great beer, an amazing menu and a spectacular location. We walked along the estuary to get here and the view of the bridge and the hills over the water is really scenic. Ordered drinks before our food and enjoyed some IPA and stout I hadn't seen before. The food was really really good, well worth the price. And the service was friendly and we enjoyed talking to the staff. Overall this was one of the best pub meal experiences we've had for a while and I would absolutely recommend it. Maybe book a table or arrive early to secure a table on busy days.”

  “We went late on a Sunday, which I suspect was a mistake, as it felt like it was the end of a long and busy day for the staff. Roasts were average, potatoes that had been cooked and kept warm for hours, OK veg and decent meat to be fair. Service was also a bit chaotic. Three tables that came in after us all got their food before we did even though we'd ordered before them. Shame as it's a fantastic location.”

  “A must-go-to place! Such friendly and very efficient bar/restaurant staff and service - THANK you. And what a big menu choice - from bar-type food to big a-la-carte menu for a proper lunch/dinner - all freshly prepared. Our dog loved being there too. And what a fabulous location with great views and on the well-marked footpath network along the estuary.”

  “Lovely place for a quiet drink in the estuary. Worthwhile popping in for a drink before the long walk/cycle to Barmouth. Great selection of well known and local drinks available. Brilliant views from every angle.”

  “What an absolute gem of a place! A stunning property set in a very special location with breath taking views! The staff are very friendly, welcoming, attentive and lovely. I had a very tasty starter and the steak main course was cooked to perfection. We had a bonus with the weather and took advantage of sitting outside next to the river, with a drink after eating. We will be back for sure and we plan on booking a room next time. Thank you all for an amazing experience.”

  “I booked a 2 night stay as a surprise for my partner's 60th Birthday. We loved every minute of it! The room was absolutely gorgeous with lots of nice extras. The staff are lovely, helpful and attentive, the bar, restaurant and terrace areas are nicely decorated and have the most amazing views you can imagine. And we found the cosy snug area too. The food was fantastic. We had booked another venue for dinner on the second night but changed it so we could eat at the George again - it really is that good! We will definitely be coming back - soon!”

  “We had a fantastic experience at The George III Hotel. The location on the estuary is absolutely stunning, yet the atmosphere inside still feels warm, cosy, and homely. The staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the service was excellent and our food arrived quickly. Every course was delicious from start to finish, and it was clear a lot of care went into both the food and the overall experience. I would highly recommend The George to anyone visiting the area and we’re already looking forward to coming back again.”
