Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise authentic, well-spiced Thai food at low prices, with crispy roast duck the standout, served in pad Thai and alongside green curry. Close behind are the welcoming, prompt staff, who kept going through a busy Saturday evening of tourists and takeaway orders. Others mention the starter platter, curry fried rice, a deep fried fish special, freshly made banana milkshakes, tofu dishes for vegetarians, and rice that costs nothing extra. Criticism centres on flavour and pacing. One diner found the chicken pad Thai lacking sweetness, the tom yum oily, and the drunken spaghetti in red curry bland, and said dishes arrived one after another so some finished before others were served. Another was caught out by a surprisingly hot dish with no spice rating on the menu, and one disliked that the takeaway queue stands in the dining area watching people eat. One birthday group of ten was greeted with flowers at the door.

“The food here was alright and the staff were nice. We did find however that the food took a while to come out and everything came out sequentially rather than all at once meaning we had to watch some people eat while the others finished their meals early. Still though, the waitstaff did take really good care of us ensuring our meal was satisfactory. For the food, we did find that some of the food was a little bland like the chicken pad Thai which lacked a bit of sweetness and the drunken spaghetti which was a noodle dish in red curry sauce. The Tom yum was a little bit too oily but the meat in it was nice. Overall, a good experience.”

“We ordered dinner for three people. The kitchen had no trouble preparing the dishes as vegetarian options (using tofu). It was absolutely delicious. The vegetables were cooked to perfection—not overcooked (as is so often the case in Europe)—and there were many authentic Thai dishes on the menu. It is simply a joy to taste such fine food! Note: Cash-only policy.”

“I’ll be honest, on the outside I don’t think you’d realise the level of culinary experience going on inside; but do not be deterred! We had a group of 10 people in this petite restaurant as part of someone’s 50th birthday week. We were greeted with flowers to say happy birthday, which already put the place in very good stead. It was incredibly busy with take Aways and a full restaurant but our meals were served in a timely fashion, and were cared for very very well by the staff working here. The bill at the end felt criminally low for the amount of incredible food we ordered, which just goes to show how great and reasonable this venue is. If you’re in the area, would absolutely recommend a visit here. 10/10”
