Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the katsu curry, called tasty and generously portioned, with ramen close behind, from the house special to a chashu pork version described as delicious and a decent size. Also named are gyoza, squid starters, prawn udon, miso soup, a Japanese chicken starter with the perfect amount of spice, and tempura one group called the best they had ever experienced. Several praise the beautiful presentation, the good vegetarian options and the reasonable prices. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and tea arrives in cute teapots that are topped up whenever wanted. Reviewers describe a cosy, relaxed room with calming music. The one complaint comes from a visit when air conditioning was being installed downstairs and drilling went on for a while. The staff apologised and seated the party upstairs, and the reviewer said it wasn't a problem. Several mention return visits, and one parent notes their toddler is always brought a little bowl, cutlery and dinosaur training chopsticks.

“A cute cozy restaurant near Didcot parkway station. Absolutely tasty, delicious, flavoursome and wholesome food. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and suggestive of the better options. They also explained what the dishes were when asked about it and were also considerate and accommodating. Definitely recommend. Good vegetarian options and decently priced. Very nicely presented too.”

“This was my first time trying meisaku, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was wonderful the place was very clean and tidy and clearly well looked after. And the food was amazing I tried the japenese chicken for starter and it was the perfect amount of spice and seasoning was wonderful. I then had the miso soup which was very flavourful. And I then had the katsu curry that was very tasty and I was very happy with the portion. As you can see in the photo attached the presentation was very nice but they also focused on the actual flavour of the food. Which is very rare to find these days the whole place works very well together the waiters kind and the chefs work very hard to offer amazing food for a really good price. I would recommend this place to anyone it is truly amazing!”

“We had a fantastic meal at Meisaku! From the moment we arrived, we were given a very warm welcome by the staff, who were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant has a lovely, vibrant atmosphere right in the heart of Didcot. Air conditioning was being installed downstairs while we were there, which meant there was around 10 minutes of drilling, but the staff apologised and honestly, it wasn’t a problem at all. We were seated upstairs where the air conditioning was already installed, which was much appreciated with the current heat! The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were already talking about coming back before we’d even finished! A huge thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality and incredible food. We can’t wait to visit again soon. Highly recommended – you won’t be disappointed!”
