The takeaway food that I'd recommend include: Chilli & Salted Spare Ribs Chilli & Salted Chicken Chicken Kung Po Chicken with Spring onion & Ginger Chicken in Lemon Sauce Beef with Chilli Halves Beef Szechuan Beef with Peppers & Black Bean Sauce Chinese Roast Pork with Spring onion & Ginger King Prawn with Chilli Halves Chilli & Salted King Prawns Egg Fried Rice Chow Mein House Special Chow Mein (Yung Chow) Chicken with Green peppers & Black Bean Sauce Chicken Curry Special Curry Prawn Crackers Singapore Chow Mein All the dishes I've tried are good quality with good attention to detail in flavour and aroma. The food is uniquely different from other Chinese take-aways (which is a good thing) using quality ingredients, very reasonably priced & good Portions. When ordering online, there is a 50p Service Charge. Delivery (£1.50 in Daventry) has always been on time, correct, piping hot & most importantly DELICIOUS.   “We ordered online ( first mistake ) there is no chow mein option but I have 100% had chicken chow mein here before. We ordered the chicken noodles thinking it was the same. We picked it up and when I got home to plate it up, it was thin noodles, loads of soggy cabbage and vegetables in it, chicken was covered in gloop and slimy, just disgusting. I rang them to say it’s not what I wanted and they said they only do one option. Said sorry about that - didn’t really care. My husband had a chow mein and so not sure what they were talking about. The other food was average, shame as it’s not cheap either. Won’t be using them again.”

  “This used to be our go to where the price point reflected the value and quality, now its expensive and disappointing, we decided to give one Water Margin one last try and we wont be back which is really sad. Overcooked crispy beef, really dry crappy bits of duck, Singapore noodles that just tasted of soy and chips that weren't crispy. Only thing that was ok was the chicken balls and the prawn crackers 😂”

  “Have been dying for a Chinese takeaway since moving to Daventry, but as we're in a new build, couldn't get a delivery as our address isn't recognised. Telephoned The Water Margin and although they didn't recognise our address and postcode, took my order and delivered it to us ☺️ It was absolutely delicious 😋👍”

  “Ordered. A take away. Ready in 15 minutes. Great. Good spice to the main courses. Set meal D for four. The spare ribs were the only let down. Dry chewy and very little meat. Other than that great meal.”

  “Ordered an delivery from here, which is usually an great place but for some reason tonight the person who had picked up the phone had been agitated and was quite rude which I brushed off; Then when it came to the food being delivered we were given two half full containers of salt chili chicken, it had already been an agitating experience with the customer service tonight especially as the entire order had been £23, so I’d asked for an refund for one of the orders over the phone and had been completely blanked and told that they would talk to the kitchen. Apart from this experience everything else from this restaurant is amazing and I would recommend it to others under normal circumstances but this experience has really tainted my views.”

  “Don't know what has changed here from 3 years back but its like night and day. The one 3 years ago was not nice, can't remember what it was but it was the last one I ordered. Today's delivery i can't find fault , excellent quality meat, superb flavours love the egg in the plain noodles and beansprouts, not many add that bit it works. Crispy shredded chilli chicken just the right spice level nice to have the green pepper in it. Chicken with orange needs a lil more sauce maybe add it to your extras the same as the lemon sauce? but again nice crispy chicken. So yeah whatever you've changed please keep it this way. The food I just ate was exceptional.”

  “We ordered tonight and was very happy with the food! It came really quick, arrived hot and everything was delicious and full of flavour. It was definitely the best Chinese I've had in a long time and this is now our go to.”
