About Strange Grill&Restaurant
Strange Grill&Restaurant is a Mediterranean restaurant on Holbrook Ln in Coventry, and its back garden has a living wall and a retractable roof. A separate lounge area at the back offers shisha, so the visit can extend beyond the table. The kitchen turns out homemade food, including borek and kofte as starters and sides, and butterfly chicken as a main. Mains arrive with a complimentary basket of bread. A chicken soup starter and a Med salad round out the lighter end of the menu, and strong coffee is available to finish. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken dishes come up most, with diners praising the butterfly chicken, the chicken in creamy garlic sauce with mushrooms, and a chicken soup starter that one reviewer calls absolutely beautiful and urges others to try. Close behind are the borek, Med salad, kofte and a fresh, flavorful prawn linguine, along with strong coffee. Reviewers repeatedly mention large portions, homemade food and friendly, professional service, and several describe the prices as reasonable or the value as fantastic. The garden at the back with its living wall and retractable roof gets a mention, as do birthday celebrations and a lounge area the owner showed one couple. The one dissenting review is blunt: a basic menu, chicken overcooked until rubbery, and a steak ordered medium rare that arrived nearer well done and was too tough for the knife to cut. On one first visit, the table was not charged for its cheesecakes, and the mains came with a complimentary basket of bread.

“Brilliant food and service! It’s a lovely restaurant with very reasonable prices. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, quiet place for a date or a casual dinner. When we were leaving, the owner also showed us the lounge area at the back, where they offer shisha. Such a nice extra touch! I’ll definitely be returning next time. This place deserves much more attention and many more visitors.”

“Staff made us very welcome. Food was plentiful and delicious. One of us had the butterfly chicken and I had the chicken in creamy garlic sauce with mushrooms, both served with complimentary basket of bread. We followed this with cheesecake and tea and coffee. Lovely decor and garden out the back with living wall and retractable roof is stunning. Fantastic value and they didn’t charge us for the cheesecakes as this was our first visit. We will definitely go back. Highly recommended”

“Don’t believe the reviews, it’s dreadful. Basic menu, chicken over cooked like rubber, served a ‘medium rare’ steak that was nearer ‘well done’ and had to be ripped apart as the knife wouldn’t cut it. Very poor.”
