Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the staff, describing them as friendly, welcoming, chatty and knowledgeable, and one wedding party credits the team with keeping guests supplied with drinks and food all evening. The large wine list comes next, alongside a Blush Rosa, cheese and meat platters and cheeseboards, with small plates called excellent. One reviewer praises a smoked Fox cider and the fresh, fruity Samuel Smiths cider, though that same drinker would like a few draught options added. Atmosphere draws consistent praise, including the retro music, the decor and an afternoon with two Spanish guitarists. The main caveats are cost and comfort. One diner found the food average and the wine pricey compared with what others could do cheaper, and another called the outdoor seating very uncomfortable, with inside better and a menu that is mainly charcuterie. Several suggest reserving for indoor seating, since one party could not get a table inside on a January Thursday evening at 6:30 and outside is first come, first served.

“I've now been twice and had a similar experience on each occasion. The food is average, the wine is pricey, the service is brilliant and the atmosphere is buoyant. If you're willing to blow "half a ton" for something someone else will do cheaper and better, fill your boots. You'll probably have a nice time.”

“Outdoor seating is very uncomfortable. Inside his better. Has nice ambiance and great selection of wines . Menu is mainly charcuterie. Good food.”

“We hired out Whalley Wine Bar for our wedding party and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire night was absolutely perfect, and that was entirely down to the staff, and Simon and Tom. The service was flawless from start to finish — guests always had drinks and food in hand, and the staff worked tirelessly all evening. Everything ran so smoothly; it felt like a true well-oiled machine. The whole experience was elite, polished, and completely stress-free. Our guests absolutely loved it. Both regulars and first-timers commented on the wonderful atmosphere and the beautiful décor. It’s a genuinely special space and exactly what we’d hoped for as a setting for such an important celebration. Huge thanks to the entire team; they were outstanding. We would book again in a heartbeat and couldn’t recommend this place more highly.”
