About Cuckoos Coffee Bar
Cuckoos Coffee Bar sits on Pound Lane in Christchurch, working as a coffee shop through the day with a kitchen that handles breakfast and lunch. The menu covers full Scottish breakfasts, eggs on toast, Eggs Benedict and avocado on toast, alongside sourdough sandwiches for takeaway and a counter of cakes. Vegan and vegetarian brunch options sit next to the meat plates, and the kitchen will swap items within the breakfast, letting diners trade black pudding for an extra Lorne sausage. Dogs are welcome, and the outdoor seating extends the room onto the lane.

Reviewers single out the breakfast plates, with the haggis and cheddar panini and sourdough sandwich earning particular praise, alongside standout coffee. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and one diner notes a smooth swap of black pudding for extra Lorne sausage. A few mention the cakes and gluten-free porridge. One first-time visitor found the milk jug and teapot awkward.

“Yum, yum, yum, you absolutely deserve every plaudit, such a lovely visit to your cafe today. From the coffee, the berry smoothie to the gf porridge w honey & banana , to the amazing Sourdough sandwich that we took with us. So good, thank you team. As good as NZ.”

“I went there this morning (30/7/2026) as I saw it received a positive review on a YouTube channel. We were a party of 6 and we arrived around 10a.m on a weekday morning. We had 3 full Scottish breakfasts, eggs on toast, Eggs Benedict and avocado on toast with 5 coffees. Everything was great. I was allowed to swap my black pudding for an extra Lorne sausage and we spent a very pleasant hour sitting outside the café. 6 breakfasts + 5 coffees =£91. If you're in Christchurch, this isn't the cheapest breakfast but it is definitely quality.”
