About Popcorn
Popcorn is a cocktail bar in Chester at Suite 3, set in a historic building with a courtyard. The open-plan main floor holds tables and a dancing area, and pool tables, darts and a photo booth fill out the space. Drinks are ordered at the bar, where the list includes the Apricot and Ginger Whiskey Sour, an Irish Coffee and the Expresso Martini. Big screens show sports. A late license means the bar serves late-night visitors, and doormen work the entrance. Tables can be reserved. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers who enjoyed Popcorn point first to the outdoor seating, both on the main street and in the courtyard, where one enjoyed a cold, refreshing beer while people watching and another found the drinks delicious. Friendly, welcoming staff come up in the positive reviews, and one says their drink order was remembered every time they returned to the bar. Close behind are the extras: a photo booth, pool tables described as a little scratched, darts, and perfume in the ladies toilets. The negatives are just as pointed about service. Several describe rude bartenders, doormen and a bar manager who spoke to them with zero respect, and one says a server would not take their order at the bar. Reservations are the other recurring complaint. One group, seated for the England match, was told to leave their table shortly before kick-off because it had been reserved, with no warning or apology. Another reviewer says their reservation was cancelled and the reply was that the bar was fully booked.

“It’s a shame about the reservation cancellations, but if your response is "we’re fully booked," perhaps you should have closed those slots off earlier? Just a thought…”

“Disgraceful treatment of customers. We sat at a table in this bar for 3 hours on England match day, spending money throughout, only to be told 30 minutes before kick-off that the table had been reserved and we needed to leave. No prior warning. No apology. Nothing. What made this worse was the manner in which we were asked to leave. Two of my friends were physically and forcefully moved from their seats. I felt intimated, threatened and left with no real choice but to go — despite the match being minutes away. This is completely unacceptable behaviour from staff in a licensed premises. If tables are reserved, customers should be informed when they sit down — not thrown out at the last minute after spending hours and money there.”
