  “Nice and friendly staff but they do often get the order wrong hence only 3 stars for service. This Costa is the most expensive Costa in the area mainly due to the drive through aspect.”

  “Popped in on our way past. Ordered an ice caramel latte. With red milk watched the lady do green milk but that wasn’t to much of an issue. A baby chino warm. And a caramel latte. The two ladies were rude. They got the latte wrong and when asked for them to put caramel in there. They said “ it’s already in there “ we said I’m really sorry I don’t think there is. She then took the cup spilling it. Put 4 pumps in and said “ is that enough now “ it was the tone and being made to feel like an inconvenience to her. The sausage bap was also cold but because of their tone we decided not to question it. As honestly we couldn’t get out quick enough. We won’t be returning.”

  “Went to this costa and tried to order a tropical mango frappe and was told by a staff member that this wasn't available anymore and wasn't on the till to order even though it was still on the menu board behind the counter however we went on the app and found it was still available to order and collect from this costa so we ordered it and after collecting it we asked to speak to the manager and she even tried lying to us by saying she went and collected the ingredients last night and no other staff member was aware that this paticularly drink was now available which I find ridiculous.. !!!”

  “Distressing Treatment at Costa Drive-Thru, Chelmsford Dear Costa Coffee Customer Services, I am writing to make a formal and extremely serious complaint regarding my experience today at your Costa Drive-Thru in Chelmsford, which has left me deeply embarrassed, upset, and distressed. I am 65 years old (nearly 66) and have been a loyal Costa customer for many years, choosing Costa over competitors such as Starbucks because I believed Costa valued its customers and operated with fairness and decency. Until today, I had never experienced anything like this. I only drink green tea, and I politely asked the staff for two very simple and reasonable requests: 1. A double cup, as the drink is too hot for my hands 2. Two green tea bags, as this is common practice in many Costa stores and other cafés nationwide I was shocked and humiliated to be told that I would have to pay double for: • an extra teabag • a second cup • or double-cupping altogether This interaction took place publicly at the drive-thru, leaving me feeling embarrassed and singled out, as if I were asking for something unreasonable or trying to take advantage. I was not. I was simply asking for basic consideration and safety as an older customer. What made this even more upsetting is that I could not afford to pay double for a cup of green tea. I have never, ever experienced this at any other Costa or café anywhere in the country. Many outlets show basic kindness and common sense, especially toward elderly customers. This experience has affected me far more deeply than it should have. I left feeling tearful, ashamed, and deeply let down by a company I had trusted for years. To be completely honest, it has ruined my Christmas, something I never imagined a simple visit for tea could do. I find it extremely troubling that: • No discretion was shown • No compassion was offered • No understanding was given to an older customer with a genuine concern This is not the Costa brand I believed in, and certainly not the level of service any customer—especially an elderly one—should receive. I am requesting: • A formal explanation of this policy • An apology for the distress caused • Assurance that staff are trained to treat customers, particularly older and vulnerable people, with dignity, kindness, and respect I hope Costa Coffee will take this complaint seriously and reflect on how this situation was handled, so no other customer has to feel as humiliated and upset as I do today.”
