About White Hart Inn Llanddarog
White Hart Inn Llanddarog is a thatched-roof microbrewery pub in Llanddarog, Carmarthen, with a brewery and a distillery around the back. The bar pours its own real ale and cider, and Old Bessie is on tap. Inside, an open fire and oak beams frame a room filled with antiques, memorabilia and Welsh history items. The kitchen is half open, so guests can watch food being prepared and cooked. The menu includes home-made burgers and steak, and chips come by the bowl. A shop on site sells local items. The pub opens Monday to Sunday except Wednesdays, and walk-ins are welcome during opening hours with no booking needed.

Customer Review Summary
Huge portions are what reviewers raise most, with the farmers special of rump steak, chicken fillet, pork steak, sausage and a rack of ribs singled out, and one diner saying two sides of chips was more than needed. Close behind are the home-made burger, garlic chicken and cod, along with a chicken, stuffing and gravy baguette served with gravy in a pot. Many describe a museum-like interior of Welsh memorabilia, antiques, oak beams and a roaring fire, and the staff are repeatedly called friendly. Drinks brewed or distilled on site draw praise too, including the Old Bessie ale, the cider and a lager with a pleasant aftertaste. The recurring caveat is cost. Some call prices a little high, and one reviewer found a starter of ten small prawns and a noodle main expensive, said a large Diet Coke was too, and reported that his wife did not care for the lamb's liver. Others felt the generous portions made up for it, and one reviewer noted that the kitchen will adapt a dish however a diner likes.

“4 of us had a great meal on saturday. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were looked after by the staff. Food was excellent from the burgers, garlic chicken and the cod. Food arrived quite quickly and arrived hot. If you are looking for a great meal with good service this is the place to go.”

“My brother and I visited this pub as we were driving back from Tenby. After reading the previous reviews which were mixed, we thought we would give it try. The outside looks amazing, a stunning thatched roof building in a lovely setting. When you enter it's like going back in time, with an open fire, oak beams and plenty of interesting antiques and unusual items to keep you occupied. It has plenty of character and it is a quirky place. All of the staff were super friendly and the barman explained that they brew all their own drinks. My brother and I both enjoyed the Coles larger and it left a pleasant aftertaste. The food menu is extensive but no more than you would get in a Beefeater or other pubs and the prices are a little high for some of the items. We both ordered a chicken, stuffing and gravy baguette with a bowl of chips between us and that one bowl was enough for both of us. The baguette was lovely and crispy, the stuffing was nice but it could’ve had more chicken in it. The gravy came in a pot so you can add your own and that too was very tasty. Obviously this was my experience on that day and I couldn't fault them. Lovely pub, friendly staff, nice lager and good food. Just remember, if you pay a little more you are helping to maintain the local pubs which need the income unlike the mainstream restaurant.”
