About The Red Lodge Steakhouse & Bar
The Red Lodge Steakhouse & Bar is an Aussie-themed steak house in Bury Saint Edmunds, set in a 17th-century lodge building at 70 Turnpike Rd. The menu centres on exotic meats, including kangaroo, zebra, antelope and ostrich, so diners can try something beyond a standard steak order. The Exotic Mixed Grill brings zebra, antelope, ostrich, wild boar and kangaroo together on one plate. Traditional cuts sit alongside it, with large t-bone and tomahawk steaks for those who want beef. The "Hot Mess" burger comes with onion rings and bacon, and cheesy garlic bread is on the side list. Veggie options are on the menu too, so a mixed group can order from the same card.

“We came here last night and had an amazing meal. The 30oz t-bone steak was amazing, well distributed fat, tender, juicy, and perfectly seared. Quite simply the best steak I've ever had. We took the bone back with us so our hedgehogs could nibble on it, turns out the local birds are big fans too. The hot mess burger was exceptionally tasty, with nice big chunky onion rings and crispy, well cooked bacon. We had a glass of the house merlot too which was nice, really easy to drink. We meant to ask the name of it before we left but completely forgot - would anyone here know? Prices are high (at least as far as our budget goes) but you get what you pay for - definitely recommend for a treat night!”

“The steak was something else 10/10 the slaw lacked a little something i feel and onion rings were a little over done but with steak that good im not complaining about the food. There timing was a little off when serving the food. I know the four of us were on two different tickets but we ordered at the same time and 3 of the steaks were the same. The starters all came out together which was good, And I can tell you the salt and pepper squid was amongst the best ive ever tasted. Its when the mains came out. Two came first and by the time the other two came out the first two had eaten there's not only this but the sides came out by the time i was half way threw my steak and only the first two steaks came with a steak knife. I had the tomahawk steak it was ment to be medium rear with a good sear/char it was probably closer to medium/medium well but the flavor was still really good. The waitress did bring us garlic bread free of charge which was very nice. Not that I could eat much more after the mountain of cow I had just ploughed threw. On the whole it was a good experience and they did squeeze us in last minute, I would definitely eat here again, however possibly booked well in advance, I understand they was busy so feel a little harsh on my rating however its honest. Hopefully next time I can give full marks.”

“When they say Exotic it's excellent! Onion rings are over the top. Best rings I've had. Ava was an awesome server, very polite! The plate of meat was after I split it with my son in law. My daughter shared the Hot Mess as well. This place can fill you up quickly!”
