About Angels Cafe
Angels Cafe is a cafe in Bury Saint Edmunds at 8 Chiswick Ave, where the breakfast burritos are large enough that staff offer a go bag so leftovers can travel with you. The menu is large and centres on breakfast, with a build-your-own veggie breakfast for those who want to choose their own plate and pancakes among the other options. Tomatoes arrive in a pot on the side, which gives toast something to dip into. Smoothies and coffee are served alongside the food. London bus themed salt and pepper pots sit on the tables.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return mostly for the breakfast burrito, which several describe as enormous. One could only finish half and took the rest home in a takeaway bag, and another smothered theirs in sour cream and hot sauce and called it the only thing eaten all day. Close behind is the cooked breakfast, with a huge menu that lets diners swap items, along with proper butcher sausages, American bacon, fluffy pancakes and perfectly poached eggs. The pot of tomatoes for dipping toast gets a mention, as do the smoothies and a coffee served with a heart on top. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and cheerful, and one reviewer was asked midway through a meal whether everything was okay. Reviewers describe the cafe as very busy at weekends, with one noting a Sunday rush at 9:30 that staff still turned around quickly. Several call the prices reasonable and say the food arrived hot and well presented. No recurring complaint emerges, and the pattern ends on offers of a go bag when a burrito proved too big to finish.

“A huge menu to choose from, I had breakfast 8. I changed a couple of items, mushrooms and sauté potatoes off, black pudding and the lovely plum tomatoes (not those horrible chopped things that some places have adopted) on, the food was perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious. The cafe was spotlessly clean, nice clean tops on the sauce bottles and London bus themed salt and pepper pots. The staff were very friendly and polite too, we were also asked if everything was ok once we’d started eating. In my opinion, this is a 5 star restaurant, and on a score of 10, it is a definite 10/10 for me. Highly recommended, Can’t wait to return for more. Thank you Angel’s Cafe, keep up the great work 👍👍👍”

“Was camping at Mildenhall Raceway and came across this cafe by chance on Google maps visited both Saturday and Sunday Fantastic food. Proper butcher sausages, American bacon, fluffy pancakes, perfectly poached eggs. Delicious smoothies and daughter loved her build her own veggie breakfast Staff are so friendly Sunday morning it was very busy at 9:30 with motor racing goers as well as personel and their loved ones from the airbase. They must have turned around 50+ customers in the time we were there.”

“Friendly staff, lovely food, will be back again as it didn’t break the bank! I was almost the first person in but soon saw the regulars come in and they are as nice as the staff! What a spot!”

“I had such a lovely experience at Angels Cafe. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and that feeling only grew thanks to our server — I believe her name was Shannon. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and she made us feel completely comfortable and looked after the whole time we were there. The coffee was honestly one of the highlights. It wasn’t just delicious and perfectly made, but it also came with a beautiful little heart on top, which was such a nice touch and showed the care that goes into what they serve. It’s always those small details that make an experience feel special. The food was absolutely 10/10. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and full of flavour. You could really tell that a lot of thought goes into the menu and presentation. It’s the kind of place where every bite is enjoyable and you leave already thinking about coming back. Overall, Angels Cafe is a fantastic spot with great food, amazing coffee, and wonderful service. Shannon in particular made the visit memorable with her kindness and attentiveness. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed place with great quality food and genuinely lovely staff.”

“The food is absolutely spot on, beautiful breakfast. Food perfectly cooked and presented, and very reasonably priced. I also love the idea of tomatoes in a pot, great to dip your toast in or pour onto the plate. Perfect location too ✈ Highly recommended. Menu photo 03/02/2025.”
