About The Rise
The Rise is a cafe in Buckley that also serves as a community hub and has a room that groups can hire. Dogs are welcome, and the counter gives them free home-made treats. The kitchen runs separate breakfast and lunch menus, with Eggs Florentine on the breakfast side. Sourdough bread is sold at the counter, and bread and cakes are baked in sight, including a lemon drizzle cake. Inside, tables sit alongside a lounge area.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on orders going wrong. One family ordered poached eggs on toast and got scrambled, after being told only at the table that poached eggs weren't available, and a lunch choice from the children's menu was refused on a Saturday, with no refund or apology offered. Another had mushrooms on toast arrive with pesto, balsamic and ricotta instead of poached eggs. A third received a tuna sandwich instead of a toastie and called the bread stale, though the coffee was good, and the pattern closes on wrong dishes arriving at the table.

“Had lunch there today and ordered the Rise salad. It was the best salad I've had in a long time. Really fresh and very tasty. The Rise is a gem of a place. Spotlessly clean and lovely, friendly staff.”

“Look like a school from the outside but inside it has a nice relaxing atmosphere and bread and cake are baked in sight lovely place for a coffee breakfast or lunch.”

“We came here for breakfast, it was busy. We ordered a cooked breakfast and mushrooms on toast, which the menu described as doorstep toast with mushrooms, tomatoes, poached eggs and rocket. As my wife doesn't like rocket we asked for it without that. What arrived had no poached eggs, but had pesto, balsamic vinegar and ricotta cheese. The cooked breakfast was nice, and the member of staff who brought it was friendly but rushed. Disappointed not to get what we ordered and especially as there were several unexpected allergens.”

“Genuinely awful today. Ordered a tube toastie and blt sandwich. Got a tuna sandwich and a stale blt toasted thing. The bread was inedible, ironic given it’s a bakery. Zero customer service as there’s just a gaggle of them behind the counter or talking to seemingly every table but us. Paid for a bottle of water and got a glass. Coffee was good for the bonus star. I’m all for supporting local but that was an utter waste of £30 and I can’t see myself going back. A real shame but dreadful today”

“We have been many times before for bread, cakes and pastries which are always delicious, however today we decided to go for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I can't wait to go back again and I would definitely recommend.”
