About Brambles Seafood + Grill
Brambles Seafood + Grill is a seafood restaurant in Brodick on Auchrannie Rd, attached to the Auchrannie Resort hotel. It serves hotel guests and non-guests alike, and dinner can be sent up to hotel rooms for those who would rather eat in. The menu is built around seafood, with a prawn and monkfish skewer finished in garlic parsley butter and mussels in white wine sauce served with bread. Soup and a fish soup such as Cullen Skink sit alongside steak and burgers for those who want something else. Dessert includes apple crumble and ice cream. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The prawn and monkfish skewers are the dish reviewers raise most, praised by one diner as wonderful and recommended by a waiter, while apple crumble and a variety of desserts also earn mentions. Close behind are the mussels, with one guest singling out the sauce with bread, along with steak, burgers, an octopus and prawn salad and a fish cake. Reviewers describe the seafood as fresh and the service as friendly and lovely, and several say they ate there more than once. The recurring complaint is value around those same skewers. One diner found only six prawns and four pieces of monkfish for the main and was told "it's just the way it's always been" with no apology, while another found the skewer bland and the tomato watery, and was refused a refund. One reviewer also objected that the Cullen Skink arrived green, unlike the version they knew. Some call the prices high but the portions generous, and one found the room warm. A guest who ate there on two nights had a second dinner of steak and ice cream.

“It was early evening when I went for my meal at Brambles. I didn’t have a huge appetite so I chose 2 starters - Cullen Skink and mussels in white wine sauce. I have been to Cullen many times and have had Cullen Skink in numerous places in Scotland, however, it has never been green in colour! It wasn’t unpleasant and there were a few pieces of fish in the middle of the bowl so definitely some sort of fish soup. I’m not sure that it could be correctly described as Cullen Skink if it’s not made in the Cullen way. As I said, not unpleasant but very disappointing to someone that knows what it should be like. It could also be off putting to someone that’s never tried Cullen Skink before and may, therefore, be put off from trying it again. Cullen Skink is definitely NOT meant to be green!”

“Fresh seafood, a bit warm in there but the food was good and service also very good. Ate twice, had Samantha and Amelia serving and they were both lovely.”

“Great food and friendly service We came here for lunch while visiting the Isle of Arran. The food was really fresh and delicious, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. It is a little bit pricey, but overall we had a lovely experience and would recommend it.”

“We stayed at Auchrannie Resort for 2 nights and we had dinner both nights at Brambles (one night at the restaurant and one delivered to the room). Possible the best meals we have had for a while!! We had Mussels both nights (the sauce with he bread was amazing) and then steak and venían for mains, and burgers the second night. Everything was so so tasty and we would highly recommend it. Thank you again for an amazing service over New Year!!”

“Lovely food, great service, but no point raising a complaint. For my main I paid £28 for the prawn and monkfish skewers, but only got 6 prawns and 4 bits of monkfish which is a joke really, and when we raised our concern we were told ‘its just the way it’s always been’, not so much as a ‘sorry’ or ‘I will raise that with the kitchen’. So a bit of a let down…”
