About Chandos Deli
Chandos Deli is a deli in Clifton, Bristol, at 6 Princess Victoria St, a pedestrianised street lined with shrubs and planters. Staff serve from the deli counter, which sells sliced salami and continental cheese. The bread includes crusty baps and sourdough, and toasties and sausage rolls are on offer. Coffee is served as well. A few seats inside suit a drink or a snack, though most customers take their items away.

“Great experience , super crusty baps with continental cheese and salad and also satisfying sourdough wow! All enjoyed at a table on the sunny pedestrianised and shrub and planter lined street!”

“Arrived 09.50. Three people behind the counter, all ignored me as I stood waiting. Eventually I walked out. The service here is patchy, to say the least. Often off hand, cool. Occasionally, rarely, warm and helpful. I think they all need booster training. Also, of course, it’s one of the most expensive places to shop in Clifton. So they don’t do themselves any favours.”

“Superb food! We had the roast chicken and it was perfect. Atmosphere and staff were lovely and friendly.”
- Jody Johnson
“One member of staff was great the other kept giving us dirty looks. The sausage roll wasn’t cooked all the way”

“I bought a toastie from here, it was £8.50 and the bread disintegrated immediately, I couldn’t even eat it.”

Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is service. Several describe senior staff as rude, passive aggressive or dismissive, and one says three people behind the counter ignored them while they waited. Another was made to feel unwelcome with a small, quiet dog. One reviewer was told the deli did not stock Comté, which surprised them for a self-styled specialist shop. Prices are called among the most expensive in Clifton, and one reviewer's toastie bread disintegrated before it could be eaten. Others found the staff lovely, patient and friendly, and one sausage roll was undercooked, which left the experience uneven.
