About Toby Carvery Almondsbury
Toby Carvery Almondsbury is a carvery on Woodlands Ln in Bristol, part of the Toby Carvery chain and formerly called the Orchard. The carvery side serves roast meats with vegetables, roast potatoes and trimmings, with lamb, gammon and turkey among the meats, and the food is changed regularly. The Sunday roast comes with Yorkshire puddings. An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet includes unlimited coffee and pancakes, with unlimited refills of soft drinks. Dogs are welcome, so guests can bring a pet along. A conservatory seating area has window seating, and the team brings drinks to the table. Tables are available without a booking, and reservations are also taken. Cars must be registered at a point just inside the restaurant entrance, otherwise a fine applies.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the Sunday roast, with the lamb, turkey and gammon singled out as tasty, and the Yorkshires called the best one reviewer had had in a while. The unlimited breakfast buffet comes close behind, with praise for the pancakes and the endless coffee, and one reviewer calling it very good value for pub grub. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and several mention being seated quickly, including one party without a booking. The complaints are specific. One diner found the gravy thin compared with other branches, another wanted more side dishes such as pickles and onion, and a parent was disappointed that the kids' menu offered only chicken nuggets without chips or mash. A few found it loud on a busy half-term day. One diner forgot a drink order and was charged for four carveries when only two were eaten, which was refunded after the bill was checked.

“Great food, great service and a positive dining experience with my husband and two children. We had made a reservation and we're seated quickly before choosing four carveries. A beautiful selection of meat and hot delicious looking vegetables. Will return.”

“We went for the dinner on Sunday evening. 1st impression when we enter the site that we need to register our car for parking otherwise we will get a fine... Then we ordered drinks. They forgot to bring mine on the table, so i needed to remind them. Food was lovely, especially the gamon and the turkey. I expected more side dishes to include (as pickles, chillies, onion,...but only very limited choice was there). Kids menu - never seen to offer only chicken nugets - without chips or mash. And the bill - I am glad I checked, as they charged us for 4x carveries, but we had just 2x. Then they gave us refund. Sorry, but we won't come back.”

“5 stars maybe a little strong but they are based on value for money vs quality of food and service. Visited on Sunday for breakfast and was just what I needed unlimited breakfast for £7.49. Pepsi is about £4 a glass but like the breakfast it's unlimited. The quality of food was really good hence 5 stars. This is not fine dining this is pub grub but for the price very good value.”

“We recently had food and wanted to leave a note of appreciation for the team. Laura, Biff, and Chipp were all professional, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout. They created a welcoming atmosphere and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Thank you for your hard work and attention to detail — it was genuinely appreciated. Will come again!”
