“Booked for 11 for a family celebration. We were able to reserve a table, which was a bonus. It was a Saturday evening, so the pub was incredibly busy and very warm. Bar staff were very efficient and the long queue to order moved fairly quickly. I was able to use my blue light card which was a bonus too. Some interesting food to choose from, which pleased some of our party, however 2 food items were out of stock, resulting in a waitress coming to the table and guests needed to rethink their choice.”

“The Friendly Forester The food was decent and the service was perfectly okay, but there’s one thing I’d definitely recommend doing before you arrive: download the app or register for an account in advance. The signal inside the pub is absolutely shocking, and unfortunately you can’t connect to the Wi-Fi until you’ve set up an account. So, unless you fancy sitting there watching your phone desperately search for a signal, get everything sorted before you go! 😄 Overall, an okay visit, but a little preparation beforehand will definitely make the experience smoother.”

“We’ve driven past The Friendly Forester in Bridlington a few times while on holiday nearby. We noticed the “sizzling” sign and the fact that there was plenty of parking, so we decided to give it a try on Saturday evening. We walked in without a booking and had to wait a little while before someone came to see us. It seemed like there weren’t many staff working that evening, but thankfully we managed to get a table. We ordered through the QR code, which was easy and quick. We had a kids’ pizza, a burger and two sizzling dishes. The food arrived very hot, which was good, although unfortunately the sizzling plates weren’t actually sizzling when they arrived! The kids were a little disappointed as they were expecting the fun sizzling effect. The steaks were quite chewy and very hard to cut and eat. That said, to be fair, it’s difficult to expect a high-quality steak for under £20 these days — you probably get what you pay for. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend ordering the steak, but the other dishes were perfectly fine. Worth trying if you’re looking for a reasonably priced meal with plenty of parking.”

“We had a family meal for my son’s 50th birthday here on July 17th 2026, ( 23 meals ) and cannot praise the staff highly enough. The food was all brought out to our tables within minutes of each other. The food was excellent, all who ate were happy with their meals and the staff were kind enough to do the ‘Birthday Cake Entrance’ for us too. An excellent celebration out and I would recommend this place.”

“Took almost an hour and half to get our food and the lighting was miserable felt claustrophobic with how dark it was in there. As we went into the ladies toilets we were hit by the smell of damp with rotted wooden cladding and you could see the white fur growing on it. Food was ok when it came and the staff were lovely, well manered and polite. The building needs a refurb and brightening up and the toilets need ripping out, damp fixing and renovating to a basic standard.”
