“I've been going to Fryer Tucks in Bridgwater at least once a week, and I honestly never get bored! The fried chicken comes in so many different flavours, so there's always something to enjoy, and the food is consistently excellent. I've genuinely never had a bad meal here. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure. One of the things I love most is that the owner/chef always comes out to say hello and has a chat with me and my boyfriend. It's such a personal touch that makes you feel valued as a customer. Fantastic food, brilliant service, and a great atmosphere every single time. Easily a 10/10 – highly recommend! 🍗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Update: visit 2 was amazing too! The Tuck Burger is incredible for £7.50 special price. The service is superb. Thanks. A superb experience all round. This is not cheap frozen chicken this is the real deal! Fresh chicken in their own coating sealed and fried. There are so many sauces to choose from. The goujons were huge tender and juicy and a lot of care was taken in the presentation. A Lovely lady serving me was amazing and there was a good atmosphere. Clean restaurant but the menus could do with refreshing they were sticky and dog eared. However I will return happily again. Thanks team”

“Fantastic restaurant in town, it's like a hidden gem. Staff are really friendly, and the food is great. This was my second visit but my husband's first and he wants to come back. It can get busy, lots of people and hard to hear the person you're with, but there's a great atmosphere. We didn't reserve but they managed to squeeze us in.”

“Really amazing wings and goujons. Atmosphere great and it is really nice round here to get friendly and helpful staff. Definitely coming back next week and may well move from hot to very hot 🔥 Brilliant place. Made a massive mistake last night walking past thinking it was a chippy. It is most definitely the best place to eat round here. Streets ahead of the local up your arse shite service steak house.”

“Delicious cauliflower wings & super tasty sauces. They had a few newer/specials sauces available & we were spoken through the ones we were interested in. A great chill Saturday night dinner, great beer & good atmosphere! (and possibly the best chips i’ve ever had) Book in advance, they’re super popular here & it can be tough to get a table.. it’s sooo worth it though 🤤”

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the chicken goujons and wings, described as huge, tender and juicy, made from fresh chicken in its own coating rather than frozen. Close behind are the chips, which several rank among the best they have had, and the long list of sauces, including very spicy ones and spice challenges that groups enjoy. One reviewer found the habanero tenders so hot they were sweating, and wished for a side of ranch for dipping. Others single out the Tuck Burger, cauliflower wings, a Philly and the cheesecakes. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and some talked diners through the menu and the newer sauces. The main drawbacks are demand and upkeep. The restaurant gets busy and loud enough that it is hard to hear a companion, one reviewer says tables can be tough to get and advises booking in advance, and another found the menus sticky and dog eared. Several are weekly regulars, and one notes the owner and chef comes out to chat at the table.
