“Very friendly cafe, clean toilets. Lovely cakes. Food was gorgeous overall and traditional meals and suites available. Dog friendly and inside and outside seating. Prefer cash payments.”

“A really nice coffee shop. Mid morning we had a coffee and cake which was delicious. All the cakes looked lovely so it was difficult to choose one! Brilliant value and friendly staff. Other customers were having breakfast and this food looked rather nice too.”

“Came here for lunch. My friend ordered at the counter while I sat down, but they had forgotten I cannot eat brown bread due to a dietary intolerance and went back to the counter within a couple of minutes to ask if the bread could be changed. As the mistake was ours, we apologised and even discussed leaving a decent tip because we understood it might mean some inconvenience for the café. What upset me was the way this was handled. When my sandwich arrived, the blonde member of staff who brought it over and was obviously annoyed loudly announced in front of other customers, "We did have to throw the first one away..." which made me wince and was very unprofessional. The food itself, I'd requested a tuna mayo sandwich and it was unpalatable, full of the cheapest canned shredded tuna and missing any mayonnaise. Perhaps the first sandwich they'd ‘had to throw away’ was nice and they'd made this one worse to punish me, who knows! Also, even cheap canned tuna is easy to make palatable with cheap ingredients and minimal effort (and actual mayo as stated on the menu). I understand that food waste is frustrating and that changing an order can be inconvenient. However, the request was made very shortly after ordering, it related to a dietary issue rather than a preference, and we were polite throughout. The unnecessary public remark left me feeling uncomfortable the entire visit. At least our whole order only cost £12 ish for 2 sandwiches and two drinks. However, customer service skills and being professional is just as important as the food. We chose not to leave any tip because of the staff rudeness and won't return. Went in Costa later and was treated like a person.”
