About Llanfaes Dairy Brecon
Llanfaes Dairy Brecon is an ice cream shop at 19 Bridge St in Brecon, where the flavours are made by hand in small batches in the shop. Ice cream is served in a dipped waffle cone, and a double cone option is available for bigger appetites. Dubai Chocolate is one of the flavours on offer, and the range changes with the seasons through the year. For customers avoiding gluten, the team checks the flavours and washes the scoop first. A loyalty scheme runs for regulars, and the queue can stretch down the street at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return above all for the hand made ice cream itself, described as smooth and creamy, with no icy bits and not too sweet. The huge choice of flavours is the main draw, and the named favourites vary: a scoop each of mince pie and Xmas cake, orange and fig in winter, gooseberry crumble in summer, and mango yoghurt, which one reviewer nearly skipped because of the name until a taster was offered. Close behind are the generous portions, with one reviewer calling a double cone on a dipped waffle cone not cheap but fair, and another pairing the ice cream cake with two lattes. The recurring complaint is the crowd. Queues run down the street on Sundays, while one visitor found it quiet on a Monday. One reviewer found the entrance fairground like, and a gluten free customer was sad that the cake contained gluten. Staff are called friendly and knowledgeable, and in one account they checked every flavour for gluten and washed the scoop before serving.

“The ice cream was absolutely delicious! There’s such a huge choice of flavours and it tastes like proper ice cream, really smooth and creamy with no icy bits at all. I had the Dubai Chocolate and it was honestly amazing!”

“Such an amazing place. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. They checked every flavour we asked about for gluten free and washed the scoop before they started in case there was cross contamination risk. The flavours are amazing, the cake looked amazing but sadly had gluten in. The loyalty scheme is one that is achievable too. Can’t fault them one bit.”
