About Maison Dieu Coffee Roasters
Maison Dieu Coffee Roasters is a coffee roastery in Brechin, based in the old Sonoco building on Montrose St on an industrial estate. Its speciality coffees rotate through the year and run alongside the regular coffees. Before buying beans, customers can taste a coffee first, and roasted beans are sold to take home. V60 filter coffee is on the menu for anyone who wants a brewed cup. Toasties and cakes round out the food, and the cakes are locally sourced.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the coffee itself, with several singling out the roasted beans they buy to take home, one driving in from Stonehaven for them and another picking up two kinds after a tasting. One reviewer notes it is one of the only places in Angus serving a V60 filter coffee, with no bitterness or acidity, and another was offered a taste of a coffee not in the hopper. Cakes come close behind, described as very delicious and locally sourced, with the toasties called unreal and a quick-stop pairing. A latte is praised as delicious, and staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful. Walkers, cyclists and day-trippers mention stopping in for a break, and one describes a small outdoor seating area for a takeaway coffee and cake. The only reservation comes from one reviewer who finds prices ok but better on subscription. Several say they would return, and one climber found it through reviews and judged the detour to the industrial estate worthwhile.

“Very friendly and tried one of their coffees before buying 2 different kinds. Prices are ok but better if you take it subscription. Few speciality coffees which change throughout the year and I think the staples. They did have a dressing area outside.”
