About Blue's Smokehouse
Blue's Smokehouse is an American restaurant and bar on High St in Bracknell, where the meats are prepared in on-site smokers. The platters are named Texan, Smokehouse and Hog, and the kitchen makes its own sauces and coleslaw to go with them. A breakfast menu runs alongside the main one, with bacon pancakes among its dishes. Burgers include a pulled pork version. At the bar, draught beers are on offer and the cocktail syrups are made in house. The business is independent and under new ownership. Western-style music plays in the background.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the ribs, sticky, tender and falling off the bone, with the pork belly, burnt ends and brisket plate close behind. Burgers and a pulled pork burger also draw praise, as do the homemade sauces, the coleslaw and the pit beans. Platters, fries and a creamy cheesecake round out the dinner and lunch mentions, while the breakfast earns its own notes for bacon pancakes, the big breakfast and good coffee. A grape cocktail made with in-house syrups and a decent draught beer choice come up on the drinks side. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, and several mention the western background music and the new ownership. The few criticisms are mild: one reviewer felt the place could use a refresh and a new name, another found lunch quiet, and one thought the menu looked a little expensive until finding good deals. One family recalls the kids being shown around the smokehouse.

“Lunch was fantastic. Staff and service were excellent. We had the Texan, Smokehouse and Hog platters. The ribs were fantastic, burgers amazing and the Burnt Ends melt in the mouth. Would highly recommend. Jack and Dan were super knowledgeable and very welcoming. Will definitely go back.”

“A fantastic dinner! A spur of the moment walk in. The food was genuinely delicious. The ribs were great, the chicken wings were juicy and the sides were perfectly cooked. The customer service was outstanding. Super friendly people. Apparently, they’re new ownership and only been in a few months. Whatever they’re doing so far, it’s working! The place could benefit from a little re-vamp, maybe even a name change to move on from when it was run down a few years back, but I’m really nitpicking. Maybe they could even get screens and do American Football nights etc. Also, the choices of beers on draught were decent. All in all, a great dinner and very satisfying.”

“Really great experience. Our waiting staff were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable of what they were selling. The food was amazing, and whilst it looked a little expensive at first glance, there are definitely good deals to be found. Would thoroughly recommend.”

“Came here for breakfast following recommendations and news of the new ownership, what an incredible turnaround this has been. The food was fresh and well seasoned you can tell that everything put on the plate has been given thought. My favourite part was the pit beans which can always be hit and miss in smokehouses however this was on point. The service was incredible and it’s amazing to see a local independent place thriving. If you are wondering whether you should try this place I would encourage you to go. We will certainly be returning for the dinner menu to see if the food is still as good.”
