  “I had a very bad experience here and regret ever coming. My natural hair has been stained against my explicit instructions to not use colour / toner. Particularly disappointed with the entire process due to the reputation of this salon and choosing a senior stylist. After booking a balayage online I was asked to come more than an hour before my slot to make time for another clients cut. Despite my coming early, I was told on arrival that due to having another client and not having his normal assistant to wash hair, there would not be time typically given for a balayage. I was told that this meant the result wouldn’t be as light as my reference and I said because I did not want it extremely blonde and prefer a natural result, this was fine. I was very clear that I did not want any toner or added colour, discussing that I had finally grown to like my natural root colour after a decade of dyeing it. While my hair was being washed out, something was applied to my roots. I asked directly whether it was dye and was told “no, it’s gloss.” After leaving and seeing the hair in different lights, I realised that gloss still deposits colour. The top of my hair was noticeably darker and redder than my natural shade, which was exactly what I had asked to avoid. The end result was a weird unnatural blend of tones in my hair. More than 3 months later the colour still had not washed out fully despite my repeated attempts to remove it with dandruff shampoo and vitamin c. Another stylist has now done their best to correct the work yet the red tones have clung on and I hate it. They also pointed out chunky and very light highlights through my hair as well as the fact it looked like a “root shadow” had been done when this is definitely not what I had asked for. What upset me the most is that when I raised my concerns, instead of acknowledging that my wishes had not been respected, I was told the “tone of my messages was difficult” and suggested that I had been “googling too much,” offering to book me in to explain the “professional whys.” I found this response dismissive and upsetting. I was emotional in my messages due to the fact I had specified that I loved my natural brown and I was scared it would never go back and it has not. To their credit, they did refund half the service cost. However this does not give me back the hair colour I have spent so long learning love to and I will have to wait until this fully grows out to get that back, so it’s not good enough. The picture is my “balyage” just 2 months after it was done and one chunky light highlight found. Generally balyages grow out very nicely and are low maintenance but it looked awful”
