About The Lobster Pot
The Lobster Pot is a seafood restaurant on Canning Rd in Bognor Regis, set by the sea with views over the water. The kitchen serves fish pie, also called fisherman's pie, alongside other local seafood options. The menu runs from breakfast and brunch through light daytime bites and small plates to dinner mains, and the evening dishes keep to a straightforward style. Ice cream and puddings round out the dessert side. Evening tables can be booked.

Customer Review Summary
Fish dishes lead the praise at this seaside spot, with the fish pie and fisherman's pie singled out as superb and well presented, and one diner calling it the best fish pie in a very long time. Close behind are the fish box, the chicken schnitzel, the burger, and lamb and salmon and prawn fettucine on a return visit. Coffee, an oat flat white, and ice cream also earn mentions. Reviewers repeatedly praise the sea views, the friendly staff, and the good portions, with seating inside and outside, a kids menu, and dogs welcome. Lunchtime can be busy, and one reviewer found the venue full in early January. The one sharp complaint is a steak that arrived tiny, overcooked and chewy after a request for medium rare, served with a canned-tasting peppercorn sauce. One reviewer also found the muffins a little too heavy on the cake side, wanting jam or cream inside. Even so, that steak diner still gave the staff a star for being nice.

“hufff that was bad, probably the worst steak I had in years. Not only it was tiny but it was soo overcooked and chewy. Funny enough I said can I have it medium rare, to which the answer was it comes medium rear... 🤔 the sauce was horrible canned pepercrn sauce. I will never come back. 33£ for a terrible steak and a chandy no thank you. Staff was nice so they get a star for that.”

“Very nice restaurant. Beachside. Great views of the sea on a nice sunny day. Food was good and portions bigger than expected.”

“Amazing food, very nice clientele and brilliant staff full of stamina and with always a smile. The 'one way' system for dirty plates back to the kitchen via the corridor and prepared food out from the kitchen next to the till is remarkable. 5 star hygene rating. Amazing view towards the sea. Nice selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and cocktails. We went for the 'fish box' 🐟 and we weren't disappointed, we were only jealous of the couple next to us that had a crayfish salad that looked delicious. Definitely a 360° full european seaside experience. Highly suggested.”
