Quick info
About Costa Coffee
Inside a hospital on Whinney Heys Rd in Blackpool, Costa Coffee is a coffee shop near Outpatients and the main hospital entrance. The menu centres on coffee, including Americano and latte, with croissants such as the almond croissant alongside. Once an order is placed, staff bring it to the table for customers with mobility needs, which saves them carrying a tray across the room. A spacious seating area with comfy seats sits beside the counter. The line can stretch back into the main hospital, so a wait is common.

Coffee draws the most praise, described as perfect, hot, fresh and tasty, with a lovely latte and comfy seats. Several reviewers call the staff friendly and helpful despite crowds, with one noting drinks carried to tables for those with mobility needs. Complaints centre on mistakes: whole milk in an Americano ordered skimmed, an almond croissant swapped for a regular one, and a rock hard croissant that was refunded.

“So me and my partner are in the neonatal unit with our son we was hungry and hadnt eaten properly but unfortunatly it was bank holiday sunday we came down to costa and ordered some food and drink it was so busy the line went into the main hospital but even tho the staff were understaffed and definately overworked both employees hanna and kenzie were amazing the service was as fast as they could go and the quality and reprisentation off the drinks were perfect and if anything both of them deserve a raise... well done to both of them for their amazing service”

“I am regularly in Outpatients for appointments at the moment. I like to stop by Costa as part of my post-app ritual. This is often a very busy shop, but I have to say that the way the staff look after those with mobility/disability is noteworthy. I find the staff kind/helpful, and once ordered they make time to bring things to tables for those who are less able. This shows a significant commitment when the space is chock-a-block. Very much appreciated. Thank you”

“Sadly, they cannot tell the difference between and almond croissant and a regular one, so check your order before you leave. Coffe ok. Spacious cafe area.”
