Customer Review Summary
Pho draws the most praise, with diners calling the grandma's pho broth rich and one describing a perfect blend of flavours and spices. Close behind are the curries, including a beef brisket curry, a velvety lemongrass chicken curry and a curry noodle soup with a portion one diner could not finish. Prawn and tofu summer rolls, bun cha Ha Noi, crispy chicken bao and a crepe cake pudding also get named. Portions are called generous and servers friendly and attentive. The criticism is specific: one reviewer found the pho broth a tad too sweet, called the food not authentic and wanted a lime, while another said the tofu in the vegan bun was unsliced and lacked a sauce. Regulars describe staff remembering them and bringing a drink on the house.

“We had such a wonderful experience here and honestly have so many positives to say! Firstly, the beef brisket curry was amazing. The menu itself is fantastic, with plenty of great halal options, and everything we ordered was delicious. The stir-fry noodles, at less than £6, were an excellent choice as an add-on. You could really taste the wok hei! The portions are extremely generous. The iced coffee was a little too strong for our taste buds, but our host, James, was absolutely amazing and kindly added extra cream for us. He was so friendly, polite and accommodating. The service here really is exceptional. They genuinely treat you like a guest and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They even gave the children a very generous amount of brownies and ice cream, as you can see from the pictures. There was enough to feed a village! It’s definitely a fantastic venue for families. I only wish the service in London was half as good as it is here! We paid £155 including service for seven people (four children), and we certainly ate a lot, so we felt it was excellent value for the overall experience. We will definitely be back to visit James! Good luck with your studies, James, and hopefully you’ll visit London again. We might see you in Chinatown! Thank you again for such a lovely experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it.”

“As soon as we entered we were warmly greeted by the staff and our server Son. He was really knowledgeable and helped us with our selection of food. It arrived quickly and the taste blew us away! It tasted delicous! The flavours were rich and warming....the pho broth was so lovely you couldn't help but eat more. The standout was the pudding; a crepe cake which we had never had before...it was unreal! I will definitely go again and recommend the food. Thanks to Son and the team at New St Birmingham 🙌”

“We cannot recommend this place enough. The food and service is outstanding every time we go. The service is outstanding to point staff remember us and are always so thankful we return time after time. Our most recent visit being today, where we were given a drink on the house as a thank you for being firm regulars. Honestly, this place is impeccable and we highly recommend paying a visit. You’ll leave not just having full bellies but also full hearts from the kindness of staff. It’s like being part of one big family. Thank you VSK for being the best. Cant wait to be back again!”

“Came for dinner with 5 people on a weekday night and no booking - sat straight away, loads of seating, lovely ambience. Food was all delicious and great portions, each spent around £30 for starters, mains and drinks. Friendly and efficient service. The crispy chicken Bao and grandma’s pho were really good!”

“Fantastic place. They gave us a specific vegetarian menu which was very helpful, I couldn't believe how many veggie options they had! Everything was really delicious. The tofu summer rolls are amazing! The restaurant itself is light, relaxed and well decorated. The staff are really lovely. Will definitely be back!”
