Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split on Felix Seafood Grill. Praise centres on the seafood, with one calling the fish delicious and another the steak tender, plus Irish coffees. The main complaint is slow service on Mother's Day: mains arrived well over an hour after starters, with repeated two-hour table limit reminders. Diners also cite an overcooked halibut and a well-done steak ordered medium. One reviewer had a crusty bread replaced.

“Went for its last public/closing night. What a shame. This was always a great local restaurant. The place and staff will be missed. A great Billericay restaurant. The "light" midweek menu is very good value”

“Myself and my partner had a table booked for 7pm on the 18th April Saturday night, The restaurant was 75% full when we arrived and was buzzing. Our table was in front of the disabled toilet and was used throughout our dinner by guests not wanting to use toilets on the first floor and twice the door of the toilet hit my chair whilst eating. Bread served to the table had been under the pass to long and had become crusty one end and soft the other, I did inform our waiter and was replaced and took from the bill. I found I was constantly interrupted whilst talking with my partner during the meal asking is everything ok..the table wasn’t cleaned between courses which I would expect from this style of restaurant. We started with prawns and a crab & avocado starter. Very plan flavour on both, the chilli with my prawns was more a garnish then taste within dish and the crab and avocado was just plan no real flavour at all. The mains were monk fish with prawns and I had halibut, both were served with a standard butter sauce and we still wasn’t blown away with flavours as it tasted of butter. Desserts were a felix pistachio cake and sticky toffee pudding. The felix pistachio cake was very firm. Sticky toffee pudding was nice. In all we thought our meal was very average and staff need to be more experienced in serving. I want to give an honest review.”

“Superb mainly but not exclusively sea food menu with well cooked and presented food. Service is friendly and positive. Central Billericay location with plenty of nightlife nearby. For food of this quality you do expect a bill commensurate with that”

“Our experience echoed that of Katie Severn. We were there for Mother's Day. We have been numerous times before. Halibut was slightly over cooked & a medium fillet steak arrived well done. Received numerous reminders of the 2 hour table limit prior to arriving. This would have been acceptable had our mains not taken more than 1.5 hrs to arrive. We were not kept advised of this. No apologies. To add insult to injury towards the end of our visit we were told that the bill would be arriving as we had 5 mins left on the table. The young waitress that was sent to deliver this message was clearly embarrassed. Upon discreetly approaching the manger to remove the service charge she became defensive & still offered no apologies, compensation or attempt to recover this situation. We explained that the waiting staff had done nothing wrong. We were left feeling that poor management had let this experience down & to be honest a 'greedy' approach to running a business.”
