Customer Review Summary
Reviewers are sharply split on the Pad Thai, the dish nearly everyone orders: some call it tasty and among the best Thai food they have had outside Thailand, praising attentive, warm staff and the atmosphere of the converted chapel building, while others describe it as dry, flavourless, or with noodles stuck together. That divide runs through the rest of the menu too. The Krapow with pork arrived with no chilli despite the menu's spice rating, the lamb Massaman was described by one diner as a soup with fatty off cuts, and a sharing starter and coloured prawn crackers were called oily and stale by another, who also reported a bad stomach afterward. Several other reviewers cite cold starters, tough or off tasting chicken and steak, and a batter heavy dish that was mostly breading. Complaints about staff response are recurring too: one reviewer says the owner ignored feedback on the food and never returned to the table, though another recalls a server who was sent over and was lovely and understanding after a complaint.

“Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had and is the only Cabbages and Condoms restaurant in the UK, well worth a visit”

“This is the most authentic Thai food I've had outside of Thailand where I spent 6 weeks eating delicious food. The staff are the most attentive and welcoming and warm people we've ever been served by. This is our third time here, and yet again, we've tried something new and absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is well worth making a very long journey for!”

“Had high hopes for this restaurant. The starter of shell fish soup was lovely. However the main meals were of a poor standard. I ordered the Krapow with pork and had not a single chilli in it and lacked depth of flavour. The waiter was saying westerners like it mild, but their menu displays three chillis giving the expectation it would be spicy as the traditional dish should be. Also the pad Thai was dry, and lacked flavour. Also the noodles stuck together. Beers were good as half price promotion. But not sure if we would consider returning, I’m sad to say.”

“Delicious authentic Thai food served by lovely, friendly staff. The disused charming Chapel building adds to the atmosphere and experience.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
