About Hangin' Pizzeria
Hangin' Pizzeria is a wood-fired pizza restaurant at 1 Station Rd in Betws Y Coed, within Snowdonia National Park. A husband-and-wife team runs it. One is an artist and conservationist, and the other has been the station's caretaker for over 40 years. Together they use the restaurant to talk with visitors about global conservation. Every product is palm oil free, and the meat and eggs are free range. The 60-dish menu centres on pizzas made with fresh dough, numbered on the menu and joined by specials. Vegan and vegetarian versions are available, along with a Welsh rarebit pizza. Breakfast comes as a Breakfast Bap or as traditional, vegetarian, vegan and kids' plates. Homemade lemonade and sparkling juices cover the drinks, and orders are placed at the bar. Dogs are welcome, so visitors can bring them along. The restaurant connects to a shop, and paid parking is across the road.

Customer Review Summary
Fresh dough pizza is the draw, described as tasty and delicious, and in one review as soft and light rather than chewy. Vegan and vegetarian pizzas draw repeated praise, including a vegan pizza one diner calls the best they have eaten and a vegetarian margarita. Close behind, reviewers single out the Welsh rarebit pizza, a pesto and burnt honey special, and a number 6 eaten after a Snowdon hike. Garlic bread, cannoli, carrot cake, coffee, homemade lemonade, sparkling juices and a falafel hummus bowl also get mentions. Portions are called massive, and staff are described as friendly and warm. The recurring complaint is busyness. One party waited an hour for pizzas, another found the takeaway wait too long on a bank holiday weekend, and a third waited a little for a table. One reviewer also notes that gluten free options cost extra. That bank holiday visitor came back the next lunchtime, got a table inside, and found the pizza and garlic bread both delicious.

“Very cool little place, pizzas are super fresh and tasty. Inexpensive for the area. I popped in here after a hike up Snowdon and had a number 6 pizza and it was just the best thing I could’ve done. They have some really good sparking juices too which go down really well after a long hike. Paid parking across the road which is convenient, I didn’t struggle but went mid October.”

“Best pizza in wales! The pizza was incredible and definitely the highlight, but the breakfast was great too and the coffee was lovely! The staff were really friendly and welcoming as well. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you visit snowdon, you won’t be disappointed! We’ll definitely be back! Also do vegan pizza's”

“Hangin’ Pizzeria in the beautiful town of Betws-y-Coed is a gem! Connected to a cozy shop, it features striking ape photos across the walls—a thoughtful touch encouraging diners to support ape conservation. The food is wonderful, and the pizza portions are massive! Coupled with exceptionally warm and courteous staff, it makes for a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!”

“Absolutely famished after the hike, was looking for a vegan pizza place and found this. It felt feeding my soul, wood fired, rustic pizza and the falafel hummus bowl. Loved the portion, we were actually very full in the end. The homemade lemonade is to die for. A fly got into one of the glasses and they happily replaced the drink for us. There was some rush, but can't expect anything else when it's summer. Stunning atmosphere, amazing food. Highly recommend!”

“Fantastic pizza! The base is soft and light (not chewy at all), the tomato sauce- perfectly balanced (non-acidic), the toppings are delicious and the whole thing is baked to perfection. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Aww, I also tried the cannoli- really good! I have no picture though, cause I eat them before I could think of it 😂😂”
