About Conwy Falls Cafe

Conwy Falls Cafe is a cafe in Betws Y Coed on Pentrefoelas, set beside Conwy Falls and designed by Sir William Clough Ellis. Walkers use it as a stop before or after the waterfall walk, which runs through 10 acres of ancient woodland. Entry to the falls goes through a turnstile that accepts contactless card payment only. The menu includes a cooked English breakfast with toast and butter, and toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. Breakfast is served through the day, and the drinks list covers coffee and hot drinks, including espresso. The interior is big and open, with a rustic finish. Dogs are welcome. A free car park sits on site, and the toilets are by the car park, before you reach the cafe.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the main draw, with reviewers praising the cooked English breakfast for tasty bacon, plenty of toast and butter, and silky eggs, plus pancakes and a veggie breakfast. Coffee comes close behind, from a triple espresso made after closing time to a well roasted cup, though one reviewer found the coffees on the small side. Toasted ham and cheese sandwiches with a side salad also get a mention. Many treat it as a stop before the Conwy Falls walk, and several mention the car park, the outdoor seating and friendly, obliging staff. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says the cafe refused to serve a coeliac customer anything at all, not even a cup of tea, and says the same applies to others with intolerances or allergies. Another found a Chinese chicken sandwich thinly filled, on pre-packed supermarket bread, and did not plan to return. One visitor who paid for a breakfast for two with hot drinks and orange juice called it not too bad, and reviewers describe the falls access as contactless only, with a turnstile that locks quickly.

“Lovely breakfast. Nice rustic cafe. Staff could not have been politer or more obliging this morning . Service was excellent. Cooked breakfast really tasty, bacon was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, plenty of toast and butter too. Coffees were a bit on the small side - but again they were good quality.”

“Fine if you have no allergies. They refuse to serve Coeliacs! (Not even a cup of tea!) Nor anybody else with intolerance or allergy. My friend enjoyed his veggie breakfast. For clarification: Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease not an allergy. It does not cause anaphylactic shock. Many cafés and restaurants manage to serve Gluten Free food in small kitchens (see my reviews). And in 200+ Google Reviews no-one else has refused to sell me a cup of tea!”

“If you check out Conwy Falls, you must visit this cafe. We had only drinks, but the menu looked great too. Cafe is big and spacious with outside seating. Parking is free with access to Conwy Falls at £2 contactless only. We had yummy drinks. Service was also very good.”

“Great cafe with a lovely atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. A perfect spot to take a break and recharge. Highly recommended!”

“I loved this place, nice location and good size car park. Toilets with a shower. Outdoor area & nice breaky. Had a nice walk to the falls after. £2pp card payments and you have to be quick when you pay as the turnstile will lock quick otherwise. The falls are nice maybe 30-1 hour in time wise depending on how slow you walk and if you want to stop & take breaks. Wear trainers not flip flops like silly me. Steps but could be slippy and hard for anyone with mobility or balance issues. My mums 70 and she did it with lots of stops. Reccomend. Breakfast cost £37 for 2 x english, 2 hot drinks and 2 oj's. So not too bad. Thanks”
