Customer Review Summary
Steak is the most repeated draw, described as cooked to perfection, including a surf and turf with very fresh seafood. Pasta, a vegetable risotto and the desserts and coffee also earn praise, and several reviewers call the meals great value. Pizza splits opinion. Some find it fresh and full of flavour, while others report an undercooked Margherita with a raw dough taste and an overwhelming smell of garlic, and a calzone that was mostly dough and a bit raw. One vegetarian was served a vegetable pizza topped with ham and a single sliced mushroom. Other critics found the garlic mushrooms disappointing, the cocktails bland, some of the shared antipasti wet, and a beef special risotto that tasted freshly frozen. Service is mostly called friendly, though one table saw inexperienced staff and nobody checking on them. The calamari, the Italian lager and the house red drew praise even from the critical reviews, and one couple felt welcome with their dog on the terrace.

“A very popular restaurant. Reserved a table. From opening drinks to starters to main course to leaving ... less than 2 hours. Chefs are amazing. All staff very friendly. Ignore the poor reviews. This place is excellent.”

“Fantastic, top quality steak from South America, cooked to perfection. Wonderful vegetable risotto. Wines were extremely good too. Delicious coffee and deserts. We eat out a lot and this is the best quality/value for money meal for a long time. People running this place have it nailed, and clearly know what they're doing. Great service, very sleek/professional and friendly. Had our dog with us and we were all made very welcome and well looked after. Just great hospitality.”

“Lunch was superb and great value. Ambience was great with really high end fixtures and fittings giving the place a lovely vibe. Service was friendly and attentive. Highlight of the meal was the surf and turf, seafood was super fresh and the steak was tasty and cooked perfectly to my preference. Wish I had thought to take more photos! Two courses each, one large red wine, one soft drink, one coffee - including tip was £72 and worth every penny.”

“I honestly don’t want to talk a place down. We rang and booked. Straight in, table for four, tucked into a corner. Drinks ordered, came back wrong, but easily sorted. The cocktails were bland. The Italian lager was great. Starters: we had the garlic mushrooms and they were disappointing. The shared antipasti was good except some of it was inexplicably wet. Sounds weird. Was weird. The calamari was spot on. Mains: the Kiev, probably like all the chicken, was sound. The beef special risotto felt fresh from the freezer, and the pizzas were fine. A point to vegetarians- the vegetable pizza came with ham and one sliced mushroom. It looked like it had been pre-licked by a dog. See picture. That’s really chuffing shabby. My pepperoni and chilli pizza was okay. Staff were inexperienced on the whole with a couple putting out fires whilst rolling their eyes. The house red was good. There was vomit all over the ladies toilet-this is just bizarre and not great feedback with another cubicle out of order. Gents were fine. It was £155 for four of us, which might be reasonable but obviously, Mister Taxman, cash only. We didn’t have dessert and couldn’t wait to get away. Great company, disappointingly coupled with tired experience. The owner needs to get a grip. Waiting staff need to be zoned-we had five servers and only had starters and mains. Nobody asked if we were happy/enjoying it etc. We were in the churn of tourists and visitors being very gently fleeced. Trust the reviews you’ve read. I hope they sort it out. It’s in a great spot. They could do with a genuine Italian touch which feels lacking.”

“We had a fantastic meal at Limincello in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The pasta was absolutely delicious, and the pizza was fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The food was excellent value for money, and the lovely atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit.
