Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, naming the squid starter with its green sauce, the king prawn pad Thai, and the chicken Masuman curry with jasmine rice as delicious. Close behind are the duck rolls, the white chocolate matcha cheesecake, and the cocktails. Reviewers repeatedly describe service as quick and friendly, with staff giving recommendations and asking about allergies. The outdoor seating and the space upstairs and downstairs also get mentions, and one reviewer thought the room needed background music. The main complaint is the newspaper-sized menu. One diner says it had no vegetarian, vegan or allergen labels, was pointed to an iPad, and had to step outside for phone signal to check the website, which does show them. That reviewer also knocked a glass of wine off the table opening it and found the food just ok. Another did not see any vegan desserts, though a separate vegan menu was noted. One suggests allowing extra time on busy event days like Valentine's. At outdoor tables in warm weather, a server kept water topped up.

“Aagghh! New menus are bonkers. Literally the size of a broad sheet newspaper. Knocked a glass of wine off the table opening it 😭. No labels on the food items to show if it was vegan, even none for Vegetarian or allergens. No help from maitre de, I’ll get the iPad that has the ingredients?!?! Had to go outside in the end to get signal to go on website to see menu online that DOES have V/VG shown on dishes. Absolutely crazy way to do a menu. Marketing manager needs to think again about this one. Service was good, food ok (been better before), atmosphere busy.”

“Probably the best Giggling Squid I have been to… staff are always so friendly and attentive. Food is always spot on and staff will give recommendations and engage with customers individually. Tons of seating, upstairs, downstairs and outside. Will visit again as one of my regulars! Thanks Team.”

“A superb meal at Giggling Squid. Food was flavoursome, with generous portions and a beautiful outdoor seating area. A special mention goes to our waitress, Bryn, who thoughtfully kept us topped up with water during the warm weather, and to the manager, Valentina, whose exceptional customer service truly stood out. We hope to visit again soon.”
