  “Unfortunately the portion sizes are going smaller each time we go. The fish is getting smaller in size especially jumbo. Prices are going up a lot. Also very disappointed with the size of tubs sauces and the prices. Bradford mother hubbards Duckworth lane n leeds road, portion sizes are very generous and do more variety of food. Batley mother hubbards boring, same menu for years. Portion sizes are getting smaller, plz do think about a bit of a change to the menu and portion sizes.”

  “I had opened the bag with my food inside, I got a curry sauce and regular fish and chips. food came freezing, batter was like eating plastic, I only had 14 chips in the box and had no flavour whatsoever, my curry sauce had gone all over the bag. bare in mind I had spent £18 on this. Mother Hubbards, you are a massive company, get your self in place and do your job properly like local fisheries.”

  “Ask the staff to put me a fresh fish n chips fry a new fish not the one which was sat there fo the last 20mins this is what I got ....not happy didnt even ask if I wanted salt n vinegar,,”

  “I will start with a positive and say the fish was tasty and cooked really well. It calls itself a restaurant but it is far from it. We ordered at the counter sat down in the ‘restaurant’. When our drinks came they were in cardboard take out cups. The food was also in takeaway boxes, and the cutlery was wooden takeaway knives and forks. You would at least expect them to be on a plate, hot drinks in a proper cup with proper knives and forks.m in a ‘restaurant’ . The chips were chewy and although curry sauce tasted nice it was so thick you cut it with a knife. I wouldn’t go there again, very disappointed”

  “Absolutely disgusted with my experience at Mother Hubbards. I had ordered a meat and potato pie with gravy and chips over the phone and repeated my order twice to make sure they got it right. A friend kindly went to pick it up for me, but when I opened the bag I was shocked to find a kids fish and chips meal and a mushroom pie instead. Mistakes happen, and I could’ve understood that — but what really pushed me over the edge was the complete lack of customer service afterwards. When I realised the mistake, they were already closed, so I called the next day. I explained what had happened and was told someone would call me back that evening. No one ever did. I tried calling a few times after that, and now it seems like they’ve either blocked my number or are just ignoring me. So not only did I pay for food I didn’t order (and couldn’t eat), but I also got zero support or resolution. That kind of treatment towards customers is unacceptable. I will not be returning and I strongly advise others to think twice before ordering from here. Waste of my time and money.”

  “Ordered on UberEats as there was an offer running so thought we’d give it a go. The food was absolutely spot on. Fish and chips were delicious, barely any oil. The curry sauce was also amazing. Fish and chips is a massive portion, you won’t be leaving hungry. We’ll definitely be ordering again from here, very good value. For those moaning about cash only, surely you just order on UberEats?”

  “I was craving fish n chips and was not disappointed! The portions are big and the food was delicious. We ordered over the phone with a large order. The food was ready on time and packaged well. This is the place to go in Batley for good fish n chips.”

  “Lovely fish and chips every time. We have been eating here for years. Choice of cod or haddock. We love the special (nice chunky portion). Always clean and friendly staff. They fry in vegetable oil. Highly recommended.”
