Customer Review Summary
Fish is the draw, described by diners as generous, white and flaky under a light, crisp batter, and several note it is fried to order. The chips earn praise as golden, crispy and made from fresh potatoes, with mushy peas and curry sauce also called tasty. Friendly staff and quick service come up repeatedly, and one reviewer calls the shop clean and tidy. The reviews are not uniformly positive. One delivery customer reports fish that tasted frozen and dripped with grease, a burnt burger and bun, and a curry sauce that was not secured properly. A longtime customer found the portion of chips small compared with usual, and another calls the food ok and nothing out of the ordinary, noting the shop has added pizzas and kebabs, with buy one get one free pizza deals. Several take their order to the beach nearby, where one describes picnic tables at Walney Beach and watching the sun set over their meal.

“Typical fish and chip shop. Friendly staff and the fish being fried to order are best in area. Fresh potatoes make chips to match.”

“Have used Andys for many , many years but was disappointed today. Fish was nice but very small portion of chips compared to usual. I understand the proprietor is loath to pass on his rising costs to his customers but a slight price increase might well be justified in order to maintain the standards previously achieved.”
