  “We came here whilst visiting Banchory as we wanted coffee & cake but ended up just having a coffee as the cakes weren’t covered up. Within the twenty or so seconds we were there flies were hovering around the cakes….needless to say that put us right off! I don’t understand why supermarkets & cafes don’t cover their food that is on display. The coffee was nice although luke warm and served in a glass. Why not just put it in a cup or a mug as it’s easier to handle or at least give us the option?! Staff were very friendly whilst we there, we hope it does well as it’s a local cafe but it needs a few minor changes before we hurry back.”

  “Very, very average experience on our visit. Lukewarm coffee, bland toastie and lacklustre service. Gets a high score on Google so maybe we caught them on a bad day. PS. The ‘toastie to share’ for £15 is a £10 toastie served on two plates with extra crisps and salad on the second plate! Waiter told us this with a straight face 😂”

  “This was probably one of the most delicious grilled sandwiches I have ever had. The food, service and atmosphere was just amazing, and the local patrons were also friendly and engaging. Wonderful service and a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a break. Thanks so much Birdhouse cafe.”

  “Friendly, helpful team, lovely little cafe. The food is excellent in both quality and quantity and I'm a big bloke. Probably the best coffee ive had outside of italy, most certainly will be returning.”

  “Amazeballs. Coffee: perfect flat white, nice small size as it should be, smooth and nutty Food: had the mungo sandwich, very good caramelised onions 🧅👌, cheesecake was beautiful Service: excellent, nice and quick, good chat without being over the top. Overall: if you're in or near Banchory I would strongly recommend stopping in past the Birdhouse, you will not regret!!”

  “Really enjoyed my visit to Birdhouse in Banchory. The food was super delicious and the portion sizes were huge, so it felt like great value. I had the Korean spiced buttermilk chicken and it was amazing. Nice atmosphere and friendly service too. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and would recommend if you’re in the area.”

  “Great little spot. We went in due to my friend rating the coffee. Not only was the coffee fantastic, the food was also excellent. Great brunch options. I had the french toast and it hit the spot. The dude working was super friendly and he chatted coffee with us for a good while. He seemed passionate about supporting ethical coffee suppliers. Exactly what you want from a local cafe. Great coffee, tasty food and friendly staff.”
