About The Cromwell Lodge
Set in a building that dates to the 17th century, The Cromwell Lodge is a pub with rooms in Banbury, at 9-11 N Bar St. Overnight stays include a free breakfast, so guests can start the day without leaving the property. The restaurant side runs a menu of 75 dishes, with beef and ale pie and a Sunday roast among the mains. Desserts get their own section, and Sticky Toffee Pudding is one of the options. The rooms have no air conditioning, and windows are opened for ventilation. As a pub and restaurant in one older building, it covers casual dining and accommodation under a single roof.

“I stayed at the Cromwell Hotel in Banbury for an overnight business trip and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel had plenty of character, my room was comfortable and clean, and I found the staff friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. …”

“Location is fantastic, across the road from main centre. The rooms are clean but tired. We visited in October, no heating on, it was freezing during the night. Supplied an oil burner & a tiny electric fan but not much difference......get your heating on Cromwell Lodge!”

“Fabulous staff team working together to give the best customer service . Special thanks to Josh for sorting the extension lead ( it’s an older character filled building and Josh was so quick and helpful to solve a challenge for my medical monitor ) Thoroughly appreciated the quality bed sheets , the staff who quietly serviced the rooms. We both had allergies and food intolerances and the staff went out of there way to help. Particularly impressed with staff morale and sense of team working , and exceptional kindness to individual patrons. Fabulously refreshed Thankyou”

“Staff are lovely, helpful and professional. Hotel from the outside looks great. Unfortunately the rooms have no air conditioning and so the windows need to be open to be comfortable even on a mild day. For the entire night there was a noise that sounded like someone had put several industrial washing machines in the basement loaded them with medicine balls and set them running at slightly different times. This coupled with being situated on what seems to be the busiest road in the county with means that despite the hotel leaving industrial grade ear plugs in your room sleep is almost impossible.”
